ReturnToMonkeyThis year is cursed. The number of season ending injuries ive seen or heard of each week is increasing exponentially, it's absolutely crazy. The snow everywhere is totally beat anyways. I say everybody should just hang up the skis for the season and save their bodies for next year. This is the immediate aftermath of covid. Everybody is so ambitious to get out there and wet their tongue that they push their limits and get hurt. Or just get bit by the global curse leftover from 2020. Let's just all go do yoga and eat bananas so we can get our bodies ready for next season!
3maniaYeah, newsflash Monkey, this shit is dangerous. You should take up bowling, or golf.

Young_patty3mania, you claim “this shit is dangerous” yet your home resort is listed as Steamboat?

we might not have a choice if this weather doesn’t change on the east coast. 10 day was looking springlike the other day and I’m too scared to even look now.

3maniaMFer's are dying left and right at Eldora, what's your point?
DominatorJacquesTwo days in a row, a person died at Bachelor. One 60, and one 66.

One slid on an icy run and hit his head, another hit a tree on the windy Northwest Getback.
Very sad indeed.

SmokedGoudaTbh the snowpack numbers don’t seem too bad for how it is, but it’s so deceptive. Warmer weather has created heavier snowfalls. Less snow per inch, but more water within. A lot of places here in Colorado look thin, but snowpack is a lil higher. Like wut, but this would be the case and the wind too.

ReturnToMonkeyIts not all about numbers. Saturday I watched two of my friends slide down a 3-400 foot chute with rock fields everywhere around. It was the most scared I've felt skiing, watching from the top thinking my friends are about to die in some shitty rock field.
It was not a good idea to be there. The chute and bowl below had the coverage needed, but the snow had gone through freeze thaw cycles and got icy and scrapy. I've seen it all over. Let's just say this summer is gonna be a spicy one
dwt802Yeah definitely haven’t gotten snow in 3 weeks, it’s like April rn. Not to mention bridger sucks anyways, cancel and don’t come fs.
CantThinkOfaNamebut fr is it alright? I'm going anyways to at least explore Montana, is the park alright?

ajbskiits true, ive seen more season enders close to me this year than any other. i think its more than people are so eager to get out.
up in the great white north:
-we have labor shortages. resorts are not as well maintained as usual and they are spending resources on enforcing covid rules
-there has been a lack of snow and oddly warm days. like ive never seen freeze/thaw conditions in february in my life before.
-lots of of terrain remains closed, but there are still just as many or more people. it gets pretty tight at busy hills.
-parks are getting smaller with less or no intermediate features. its either 15' or 40' at mslm with no happy median
-training facilities like gyms have been closed and people are just not as strong
-we started the season late in ontario, only opening in like mid december
-since its been so depressing, everyone is trying so much harder to find that happyness
ive stuck to sledding because of the lack of snow, its been great. brap brap.

dwt802Nah rocks everywhere, got a dusting but it only hid the rocks, it’s so beat. Horrible park is to be expected at bridger too. Yeah nah don’t come fs fs
ReturnToMonkeyAnnnd the curse takes another victim. Seriously everybody it's time to stop skiing now!
