Ayo - Every year three buddies and I take a late season backcountry ski backpacking trip for a week or so. Last year we went to the Valentine Cirque in Mammoth, which was fuckin amazing. We drove there from here in Utah and stopped to ski Terminal Cancer along the way. In Mammoth the approach wasn't great but we set up camp at the base of the cirque and had the whole place to ourselves. We spent our days exploring the various bowls and chutes with some fun-ass corn skiing, and spent the nights boozin back at basecamp. Amazing trip
Basically I'm asking if yall had any recommendations for our trip this year or any secret spots you're willing to divulge. We're thinking that the Sierra's might be the move again just because of their lasting snowpack but we would love to take a look at some other regions too. We're really just looking for super safe, stable conditions and a multitude of late season (April-May) ski-packing terrain to explore. Cheers!
