Replying to Watching the birds of prey downhill event today it is clear that their skis were gliding like shit bcuz no fluoro

Compared to previous years when teams had fluoro overlays coming out ghe demon hole it seemed very apparent the skiers were not keeping their speed very well on the flats or accelerating well on the steep sections. For me at least this “no fluoro” shit almost completely destroys the fun of watching ski racing competitions. It would be like watching the tour de france where they all had to ride on fucking flat tires.

Like yeah its the same rules for everybody, but imo it fucking crushes the fun of watching skiing.

the new non-fluoro detritus is so fucking slow its visually palpable when you watch.

I think even if the FIS allowed just low fluoro waxes it would be a huge step in the right direction.
