I recently got a helmet (pictured in green) and the boa helmet adjuster sits within the shell, above the occipital bone, leading to a lateral compression kind of fit. It's not as comfortable as my skateboard helmet or many other helmets I've seen/tried on, like the red one in the picture, where the adjuster is below the shell, and below the occipital bone. The lower
adjuster helps attach the helmet to your head more, and you get a more comfortable fit.
I tried googling it but couldn't get an answer: does anyone have any guesses as to why the manufacturer would put the helmet adjuster there? I probably won't return it, I'm just curious since it's so much less comfortable.
