Replying to CAST Toepiece Wiggle
Hi folks.
Just got CAST mounted on my K108s that previously had shifts, and the shop pointed out that the alpine toepiece has some wiggle when locked in. It goes away when the boot is in, but with enough force it can still click a bit. It’s more significant on one ski than the other. I noticed one of the shoulder screws on each ski isn’t vertical and I imagine this could contribute to the play.
A) is this common?
B) is this safe?
C) would this be annoying or impact skiing at all?
D) is there a reliable fix for this?
The shop referenced volcanoing around old binding holes making it tricky to get set up perfectly. I have the veneer top sheets that I could literally sand flat though.
