LukasSchroederthis is so dumb lol, if someone has cancer, respiratory issues, a broken arm, etc and they get Covid and die, they died from
Covid. Covid made them die, especially if they would've continued living, even 2 months if they had not gotten the virus.
T.L."RrrRreeeeeeEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeEEEEeeEEEeeEEEEEEE!!! Antivaxxer!!! Terrorist!! Why did you personally overthrow the government on Jan. 6th?"
c-friesLmaoooo unfortunately this way of thinking is more prevalent then you’d think. Feel like I’ve heard all this word for word except for the “Reeeee” part 😂
JAHpowThis is how it should be with the covid vax
SuspiciousFishI dont trust the fact that these vaccines are an experimental mRNA therapy drug that has not actually been approved by the FDA. For instance Moderna has been working on these drugs since 2010 but have not gotten a single drug FDA approved due to safety until COVID-19.
.MASSHOLE.I mean, most drugs are either rejected due to lack of efficacy or safety reasons. The fact that mRNA drugs failed Phase I/II/III trials or were stopped due to safety concerns shouldn't surprise anyone. There really isn't any other way for a product to fail. When it comes to pharmaceutical products, there's something called a therapeutic window which is a point where a product (drug or biologic) can have a strong enough effect on the disease without causing any safety issues. When there isn't a strong enough effect, it fails due to lack of efficacy. If it creates an overly dangerous bodily response, it's rejected due to safety concerns.
When it comes to mRNA products, this window historically has been very hard to find. Like most injectable products, mRNA vaccines/treatments need to be coated in a protective layer as a means to prevent the body from destroying the desired proteins before they can reach their ultimate destination (in this case, immune cells). For years, companies involved in the mRNA space have been searching for technology that can find this therapeutic window. Companies had to change their target diseases to ones that required minimal protein to have an effect.
10 years is really nothing when it comes to new drug technology, especially one has complex as an mRNA product. Biologics are similarly complex products that can provide a nice comparison. TNF inhibitors (like Humira, Enbrel, etc.) were first discovered in the 1980s but did not come to market until the late 1990s/early 2000s. Zidovudine, the first ARV for HIV/AIDs was discovered in the 1960s but didn't come to market until the 1980s.
Hell, CRISPR Therapeutics is still years away from any sort of novel treatment and has been around almost as long as Moderna.
JAHpowI want to add that the J&J is not an mRNA vaccine. It's an adenovirus vector vaccine. This type of vaccine has been studied since like the 70s. Multiple Ebola vaccines where created using this same method and were approved for use (one by the FDA) even before covid came around.
skeirmanCovid was a giant nothingburger for me. I didn't change anything in my life other than what was mandated. Never worried about getting it. Kept doing all my normal stuff. Never tripped out at all. I watched the numbers every day because stats interest me. I never understood the unbridled, sheer panic. The numbers never warranted anything remotely close to the fear this thing caused.
I live in a state of almost 6M people, and the death rate is around 5-7 people, statewide, a day. All those people are in high-risk groups. The mask mandates are basically gone entirely here. Everyone in my circle is vaccinated.
Why would I get the vaccine? I have nothing against vaccines, or the covid vaccines. I just really don't see any compelling reason to get it.
asparagusAnd this is how it’ll really be
asparagusAnd this is how it’ll really be
zuesYea that’s how I’ve already been moved into my office. It’s funny cuz they don’t know I didn’t inject myself. Hehe !
asparagusPlease be joking 😐
zuesI wonder if I can hire an outside company to trace how many ppl I infect involuntarily as an unvaccinated white male. I could possibly be killing more
than .04% of ppl a day. Considering the new Covid deaths rates. I wouldn’t even know. How dare I neglect to let someone inject me with a needle to make myself
sick for a day. That doesn’t sound like poison at all. Just martyrdom. I am one with the herd. And the herd one with me.
Let us recall when obesity, cigarettes and alcohol killed 15 times more people annually than Covid ever did worldwide
LonelySo you don't fly in planes right?
zuesI just found it sad how she’s worried about dying from Covid but really she’s just killing herself with food.
hdubsI'm gonna have to side with zues on this one. He may have some retarded political takes but he's right in this regard.
I find it ironic that the one definitive thing we've learned about the virus is that obesity is the overwhelming risk factor for getting severely sick and dying of the virus, yet everyone's giving out free donuts or a free cheeseburger to people who have gotten the vaccine. Like its great you're bribing fat people with food so they don't die from this one thing, but it wouldn't be nearly as big of an issue if they weren't fat fucks in the first place. Damn go offer a free salad or a free gym trial or something like that.
You should still get the vaccine tho

zuesI was just in a plane to Florida masks and all. The only problem was the 300 pound woman next to me took her mask off to eat some fattening cheeseburger.

.MASSHOLE.I mean, by this point we're how many millions of dosages in?
If there were near-term and common SAEs we'd have seen evidence of them. Most (vaccine) clinical trials are nowhere near the size of what we're seeing right now. Most vaccine SAEs occur within the near-term as well.
Polio- 1 in 2.4 million had the chance of being paralyzed by the vaccine due to the virus reverting to the wild type poliovirus. This occurred within 30 days of being dosed.
Yellow Fever- Children under 6 months of age have an increased risk of brain or spinal cord swelling (this is why it's recommended children under 6 months do not take it). Additionally, there's a risk of viscerotropic disease, which can manifest in multi-organ failure. It shows up within 3 days of being dosed.
Flu Vaccine- The only "common" SAE is GBS, but that occurs in about 1 in a million vaccines and is more likely to occur from getting the flu than from the vaccine. It shows up within a few months.
MMR- Like with many drugs, there's a chance of thrombocytopenia within 1-3 weeks, but sometimes up to 8 weeks after dosage.
The few concerns we've seen are with the adenovirus vaccines, and anyone with a medical background can tell you clotting can be caused by a LOT of different things. To say that there's a causal link is wrong.
And with regards to long-term concerns, we know adenovirus vaccines are EXTREMELY safe. There's no doubting that. With regards to mRNA vaccines, we've seen data from animal, Phase I, and Phase II studies all of which SHOULD have shown any SAE over the long-term. Generally, when studies end, companies continue to follow up with patients to keep an eye on their health.

HypeBeastFirst it was there's no data so I'll wait. Then it's microchips. Then it's cancer, even though there's literally no possibility of this based on the mechanism; I could explain but you wouldn't understand. Then a totally different type of vaccine causes clots; that's 0.0025% of vaccine recipients of the AZN vaccine. Nothing for the mrna ones but people still use that as an excuse.
Lastly, this is 100% political. Look at the distribution across states and rural areas.
Literally every reason for not getting the vaccine has been disputed with evidence so we shouldn't even be having this conversation.

zuesNow that 120 million Americans have been vaccinated. Why can they not donate their blood ? Sounds like that might cause a shortage
TOAST.Wut
zuesThe Red Cross isn’t accepting blood from vaccinated individuals. But it looks like that might be fake news.

zuesNo I’m pretty sure the main factor to not get vaccinated is the 99.96% survival rate.
Bahahahaha. I’m a Betting man and I REALLY like those odds.
just to think that people are still scared of this virus that’s literally just the flu is fucking hilarious.

HypeBeastJesus christ how bout you make sure you're posting accurate information. Congratulations Zeus. You just disseminatated misinformation with confidence. You can donate blood. There is a shortage and it's worse this year but not because of the vaccine.
If any reason, get it so you can help prevent another outbreak cuz we all know how well that went. But you should also stop focusing on just mortality. The morbidity has taken quite its toll. It you still think this virus is a joke, ehhhhh you can't be helped. Do it for the children Zeus!
But seriously this isn't the flu. It's more deadly. And the morbidity is much much worse. The media focuses on morbidity and when hospitals are overwhelmed but they really don't focus too much on the people who survive and all the interventions that had to be made so they did survive. They don't even mention all the kids in the hospital with MIS-C, which can be quite severe; I've seen many kids come in with misc who present looking like severe septic shock but it's not sepsis-would have died in hours if they didn't get immediate care. Some of those patients will have permanent damage to various organs affecting the rest of their lives. The media doesn't talk about all the people who get admitted, put on vents, and then come off them and go home once they're better enough to be discharged. Going on a vent is bad news bears. So please for the love of God stop quoting mortality or calling it the flu as a rationale for saying covid isn't bad. Nearly 1 million Americans have died from covid; 36k die from influenza on average.....I've seen more non-elderly patients put on vents this year for covid than I probably will the rest of my life for influenza.
🤭 Moron.
This is the last I'm gonna post in this thread cuz I knew it would turn to this shit. But if you keep posting wrong facts, I'll be right here to contradict you.
zuesI think what you mean is that nearly one million obese smokers who don’t take care of themselves died from being unhealthy. Covid just helped to speed it up.
we need more plague

b0ssIf everyone doesnt get the covid vaccine right now. A new more dominant strain will becime vaccine resistant. And we will have to start all over again.
SavageBiffSo your saying there’s hope, hope that traffic, will return to the way it was last spring.... nice
zueslmao. My thoughts exactly. Remember driving around in late March and April of 2020?
Jesus that was fucking sick

ElcheapoSmart people get vaccinated so they can go do what they use to do, the people that won't are just too stubborn/ignorant fir their own good
