There’s a system of mtn bike trails behind my house with sweet mtn bike features and as winter approaches I’m getting amped on bringing my skis out there. Am looking for advice on marking, like you know how plow trucks put those posts to know where to plow?
I was thinking of hanging little bits of yarn or tying them around trees, uhh but i really like those bounce back reflectors, thank you!
What about placement? Would I be marking where I want to be or hazards to avoid? And if so how to know what will be a hazard and hard to see under snow
I would mark where you want to go, either with two markers to create a gate you go through, or with one and use them as a "always go right (or left) or this marker".

You could buy some survey lathes or 2x2 stakes at home depot for really cheap. Idk what you are really trying to accomplish or how much snow you are expecting. They make those hi vis delineator things you are asking about but if I had to guess they are probably like 10 or 15 bucks each
larilinesignTie pink flagging tape onto the trees. You could even pound a t post in at the head and make a little trail sign
Sick!!

I’m not really entirely sure what I’m trying to accomplish either. I want to be able to explore this little hill near my house I guess but when it snows I worry that I’ll ski over a hibernating bear or something so I just kind of wanted to like mark that off I guess. Or also there are these piles of branches that seem like either good practice landing spots or potentially hazardous.
**and I appreciate the advice but will shop at Lowe’s and encourage you to as well when it’s an option just because homedepot donated a ton of money to trump and Lowe’s donated a ton of money to Covid relief plus their ceo is black
