zmvnkWent up yesterday (jun 4) with my homie and the park had been moved a little further up and to the right. When we got there there was a jump a 8ft pvc and box set up. We moved the pvc down lower and added another like 8-10ft pvc to it. The box is like 8 or 10 ft. There is a ton of “features” lying around that area so there is definitely some room for creativity. We are thinking about going back up either Sunday or Monday. Should definitely try and get a crew would be tight.
DolanReloadedAre you guys just gonna hike the park?
patskis22yeaaa buddy

BarclayWYo, just went there yesterday. (June 6th) Lots of dirt skiing moss-skipping all throughout the run from the top to bottom. The snow doesn't go down the road anymore and a lot of the lower park has been melted out. When we showed up to the bottom of the loveland run we found a little jump, in run, a small box as mentioned before in this thread and a janky challenge pvc rail. Lots of rebuilding and work to do but you could still cook up something fun. there is also no way to hit the qp bowl type thing at the top of the pass a lot of the snow has melted out.
That being said, theres still so much fun to be had up there!

DolanReloadedWhy dont you guys check out a basin? Shouldnt there be more snow there to build a small kicker?
ConesForBreakfastCus theres already a bunch of rails and tubes and stuff there. It's such a short hike too. Why build a booter with shitty spring snow that is frozen hard in some places and melts in 4 minutes in other places? Coverage is thin, could hit many a rock or log. I got plenty of booter time this year, gotta work on the rails now. Plus, this part is in the trees where there's shade and you don't need much speed. There's already a small jump big enough for 3s and 5s anyway
DolanReloadedThe small jump is at loveland?
drumbumocdpI have four 10 foot pvc rails hanging in Frisco. Would be down for a session if there was a good spot to bring them/ would need a hand moving them

casualJust to clarify, they’re talking about a lil hand built “park” on Loveland Pass itself, not at Loveland Ski Area nearby. The park at LSA is torn out, but there’s still plenty of ski lines up high. It’s melting though. But we have uphillers here everyday still. (I work there year round)

patskis22any groomers that I can hike up without getting busted?
casualwhich one of you guys had a crew setting up rails at the valley next to the rainbow carpet today? Lol.
you’re welcome. I talked my boss out of kicking you out.
we are going to let people jib at the valley if they have their own jibs, and be respectful.
If the crew gets really big with several cars, loud music, and a ton of kids, it’ll probably get the kabosh but keep it like it was today and it’ll be fine.
ConesForBreakfastThe homie 🙏 thanks so much we saw the security car and kinda wondered why they didn't kick us out.
To others: please dont leave trash or shit and keep it chill, let's not lose this awesome privilage
casualI was in the white pick up and was literally on the radio like....”they’re not bothering a thing, brought their own stuff”. My boss was like “Do they look like they know what they’re doing?”....me: *watches somebody toss an overrotated 2/under rotated 4 off of a pvc rail like 10 ft long* “Yup.”
Have fun, and no worries! We have a different staff Mon-Thurs and the area in general is way busier those days, so not sure if the big boss would have an issue or not, but Friday-Sunday no one will bother you for sure.
A bunch of us on patrol like to jib/ski/ride park so we got your back lol.
DolanReloadedAre you handsome?
casualA bunch of us on patrol like to jib/ski/ride park so we got your back lol.
GeorgeWBushhonestly loveland patrol is up there with bridger bowl patrol on being chill as fuck, thank you for that!
casualThat means a lot to hear. it’s cliche, but honestly 90% of us fell into the job because we just love to ski/ride and were looking for a way to do it all the time. It’s not the only way to do that, but it’s a good one.
i can honestly say that no one on the paid staff takes any pleasure in the “enforcing the rules” part of the job. We will do it if forced to, but no one gets a boner bossing people around. Obviously stuff like poaching avalanche terrain that’s unmitigated is going to piss patrollers off, but outside of that I’d like to think we are pretty reasonable.
I’ll admit that your mileage may vary if you mostly ski Loveland on weekends. I love our volunteer patrol, and there’s some bad ass people on it that have taught me a lot in the last decade, but there are some that are just lifelong patrollers from the EC, Midwest or small western areas that come at patrolling in a different way.
Generally on weekends the lower mountain is patrolled by the volunteers who can be a bit more....rules focused? They just skew older, aren’t doing the job as much as we are, and sometimes their tolerance threshold for malarkey is a bit lower. so, I could see someone having a different perspective on Loveland patrol if that’s their main interaction.
But, if you spend your time on the ridge, it’s all paid guys and gals and honestly their not too different than most people on this site.
ConesForBreakfastI learned to ski at Loveland and skied there exclusively for a long time because my grandma was a patroller there and my parents both patrolled for a couple years way back and yall are frickin awesome. I remember hanging out in the patroller hut and hearing cool stories of hot dogging and old school skiing from before it was all about money and stuff. We would stay in the lodge for hours after skiing hanging out. Those were the days man, made me fall in love with skiing

GeorgeWBushI spend all my time riding the cat until my legs are jello then i head to the park in the afternoon and hike until like 5pm or whenever patrol asks me (very nicely i might add) to head on home. learned to ski at loveland as well and skied a lot at abasin and breck during high school, but after going to bridger bowl for college, i found myself desiring the smaller resort vibe and returned to loveland. no better place and no better staff. thank you again bro! if you’re ever in bozeman, i gotchu on some sledskiing or a bridger bowl pass!!
DolanReloadedmuch bro love going on in this thread
ColoradoDogfartAnybody wanna rebuild/ski the park on Monday? Looks like it might be a cloudy but not bad.
ConesForBreakfastIs there even any snow lol
ColoradoDogfartWell prob end up moving to the lake by the top of the pass? That place hold snow year round and is semi flat for rails
patskis22that would be ill
