Stumbled upon this gem from a 1990 ski mag.

Its almost funny how far behind in gracefulness look and salomon bindings were compared to the sleek markers from the pimps in bavaria. The tyrolias were also pretty in their own way-kind of like form follows function. Atomics are fucking hilarious—i cant decide whether i love them or hate them. Fucking stonehead austrians lol. They probably wouldve chosen to make the bindings out of full titanium if it wasnt so expensive.

Heres some other pics of the tyrolias. The binding heelpiece actually resembles the heel piece of the latest attack 2s which to me is pretty crazy. 30 years and they are still repping their og style.

Another note: if anyone hasn't read an 80' or 90's ski mag, do it. It's hilarious how much shit has changed. Also hilarious how back then they were describing the hold grail ski that does everything as we do today. Really puts shit into perspective.

Heres a link to the 1990 ski mag i got the pics from. I agree its kind of mind blowing to see what the trends were like then. The magazine was just as crazy in love with the technical aspect of ski equipment as people are today. Maybe even more so.

It's crazy how thin they used to be, It looks like those purple ones would snap off if you landed the wrong way or hit it on something.
