I got the arv 106 ti for $300 and the attack 13 for $110. From what ive read the 106 ti’s are just as playful and buttery as the regular arv 106, albeit a little stiffer in the mid section of the ski (which should make it more stable in crud).
i plan on mounting them 2 cm behind dead center which is where armada suggests you mount them anyways. I normally mount 1cm behind dead center but the arvs have a longer tip rocker than tail rocker, so if i mounted them any father forward than 2cm back i might have less ski/snow contact length in front of my boot than i would have behind my boot, which on groomers might make the ski feel like i was mounted forward of dead center—which wouldnt be good. Sammy Carlson i think said the best mounting point for powder was 1.5-2.0 cm behind dead center, which is probably close enough to dead center to feel balanced on spins
i dont really ski rails anymore because i would be suicidal if i blew out (another) edge from a sheizer constructed rail.
i still hit mid line jumps and straight air the big line so i was wondering if you guys thought the stiffer mid section on the 106 ti would be better suited for jumps than the normal 106.
Also, do you think 106 mm underfoot is too wide for starting/stopping rotations on take offs and landings? Ive heard armadas pros and users say the 106 is still good in the park even though its pretty wide but most of them dont go any fatter than the arv 96 or tracer 98.
