Anybody have friends/family that have been imprisoned for nonviolent drug offenses

theabortionatorTons of friends. Thanks to scumbag people and laws people get the book thrown at them. It's such a racquet. Justice doesn't matter, it's getting easy target at all costs, and hopefully collecting some decent money of them. Drug task forces are a fucking joke.

Wooo yea drugs are bad. The most ridiculous thing to me is that you can get a lot of drugs in prison. You're putting these people in prison, but the place you're putting them is full of drugs even under all the surveillance. Pretty much shows the drug war is a sham.

Then after sticking them with multiple felonies, putting them in fucking prison long term, people wonder why they don't come out all cheery with a good job, and a wonderful outlook on life. Fuck all you Reagan type "drugs are bad" scumbags. Fuck every cop that poses by some drugs, especially weed they confiscated.

The people dying from ODs are also directly related to the drug war and the black market. Same with all the shit the gangs and cartels are involved in.

It bothers me that people act like "Well this is my opinion" " or look at me and my moral high ground". Fuck those people. Their ignorance and shitty opinions are killing peole and ruining lives.

Also ultra fucked that a bunch of people that were deeply against marijuana because of their moral stance, put people in prison and ruined lives, suddenly support legal weed because of the $$$$. If you're that twisted that your morals can be bought for a little bit of tax revenue, youre a fraud, you're a scumbag, and the god you claim to follow would pimp slap you and tell you to go fuck yourself.

oldmanskiDated a girl right out of prison, she did 6 years for drug related felonies. Got caught with meth while in prison, extended her stay of course. She got out and had some determination to stay clean, I figured she needed a good support so I stuck around. She was the only girl out of 20 others that didnt go back to jail while trying to rehab back into society. I will vouch that our prison/cop system is fucked bad! The shit she had to do to prove she was clean was ridiculous but she did it. We are not together any more but I am proud of her for what she did to get back into being a good functioning person. Fuck the police, they can change a persons life in an instance.

had many friends lives altered for possessing weed who weren’t even dealers, lost jobs , kids taken in one case (accused intent to sell) , license revoked , fined insane amounts of money inhibiting their ability to live
i grew up with my dad in legal system , he was different , always trying to help the kids , used his brain and judgement , never did he throw the book at anyone it was all about their needs and rehab!!! But for the most part, the judges, prosecutors and cops are all for the arrest, prosecution and jailing , it’s their source of income after all

cops suck but many judges are reckless with their power too.

the judge that saw my case of assaulting a police officer (when all i did was push him back against a wall because he was beating my ass) asked me twice how i was moving towards getting off methadone. I told him my doctor at my methadone clinic and my psychiatrist both refused to let me lower my dose of methadone, because of how much it helped my life.

I had to go to AA meetings for a year but i stayed on my methadone.

Having the feeling of being on probation and having the judge and the government own your soul is no fun.

if i had to go through cold turkey methadone withdrawal in jail there is no way i would be able to stop myself from committing suicide.

id rather
spend a year in jail on methadone than a week in jail without it.

i grew up in his office after school waiting for him to get done, he was always bitching at other P.O. a , young kids used to call the house to talk to my dad bc he helped them , he was as close to an angel as humans can get so dont take me as an example of him he passed but spent his life protecting all kids , animals and being a good person, he was so merciful and believing in change and hope and rehab and god, he took a lot of shit from his peers for not “getting in line “ , it’s the one thing I got from him, I’ll stand behind my beliefs regardless the consequences, and if he believes your sentence should b less than the prosecutor thought, he’d of fought for u like he did me , retired without pension bc the system pissed him off so much

when I was younger a kid attacked my friend , I got between them shoved him away and got tried as an adult as a 16 yr old so it wouldn’t gal under my dads department , the fam made up all kinds of lies , I ended up on probation

its Judges, cops all of em , I watched good people go into that field and turn corrupt needless to say we’re no longer friends

one of the judges in my hometown went away for embezzlement and drug trafficking another for doing coke and taking bribes

maybe that works a lot of the time ,most of the time , but there are times it does not , there are a lot of people in jail for crimes they didn’t commit , people on death row for crimes they didn’t commit !! Imagine losing your only life for something you didn’t do , not just your freedom your life!!
Yes breaking the law is bad and if you do your likely to get abused by the system, not breaking the law can help prevent this your right , but not 100% right, just like your statement

TnskiHad an uncle who caught his wife in bed with someone els and blew his head off. Spent a few years in jail but his sister paid off the jail and was freed to live out his life in peace.
