BigPurpleSkiSuitYou can submit any number of clips, but you can only get points for the same gap once. All the clips have to be from this season too.

BigPurpleSkiSuitDid some thinking and these are the rule adjustments I have come up with, upvote for yes, downvote for no, but if you downvote explain what you would change. Also have some developments in sponsors that I will report on soon, as in I may be able to put together a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize, I will let you know once all that is finalized.

1. You have to jump and ride out of a gap as defined below:
If your gap does not have an obstacle you are clearing, it must have: A defined takeoff zone, a low point between the takeoff and landing, and a Lip (not a knuckle) on the landing. A disaster will be considered a gap if you are gapping at least two kinks on a rail and landing will be the spot in which you land on the rail, not the end of the rail. A park jump does not count, nor does a straight cliff.
2. One point for will be awarded for every 5 feet gapped
3. Gap size will be determined by the poster first, judge (myself) and members second if necessary (as in you're overestimating or underestimating).
4. Points may only be earned on the same gap once per season per competitor, but you may submit as many different gaps as you would like for this competition.
5. Gap is measured from takeoff to landing
6. All footage must be from this season, and to enter your gap video, either you or your filmer must yell SPLAT sometime during the video
7. Multipliers: 1.25x multiplier for a gap over a harmful, but not deadly obstacle (a rope, or cattrack)
1.5x multiplier for a gap over a harmful and potentially deadly obstacle (road or stream or crevasse)

Competition Start Date: Dec 1st
Competition End Date: May 1st

hootsquaddown with these rules. would gapping from park feature to park feature count even if its off a jump? (not trying to get ahead of myself here but think of that dale tarkington cork 9 over the rail at carintia)

BigPurpleSkiSuitYes it would, I'm going to run it mainly on a common sense basis, but I had to define a gap somehow, and that was about the best I could do.

abar.I think if you see a post that you don't think is a gap you should quote it and people can vote by up/downvoting the reply, or bigpurple can veto it. Just use good judgement and don't try to cheat it, it's too hard to define. In general a gap should be something where you can case into an upslope, and is not intentionally made to be hit that way (i.e. no park jumps unless you're going to a different landing, but you can build your own lip or landing as long as you're working with something natural). One exception is I think hitting a double stager cliff as a single should count as a gap, as you're gapping the middle landing.

Also, is distance purely horizontal, or should you get some amount of bonus points for having a large amount of drop or doing a huge step up

I am curious though, why did you decide to focus solely on gaps, and exclude cliffs? I could forsee some very sick cliff jumps that one could certainly go SPLAT if something goes wrong.

friesTo verify that clips are from this season, there should be some special visual cue that we would have to have, Like a hand signal before dropping in, or a bandana tied around your arm

CLQSo I’m confused, is it the biggest gap or could you do a lot of smaller gaps to get the most points?

BigPurpleSkiSuitIt's cumulative.

So yeah if you jump Chad's that's points for a 120 ft gap or wherever you landed, but if someone jumped 20 different 10 footers over the course of the season, they'd be higher up on the standings.
