From framebinding to shift ord other?

So i've been skiing with framebinding the last couple of years and like both their off and onpiste performance( I have marker Duke epf mounted to Line opuses).
Now I have decided to buy the new wildcat 108 and im contemplating what bindning to get, is frame bindning dead and shift the new answer? I do some touring and have done so with the above mentioned set-up but want a narrower Ski more suitable for varried conditions but im not sure the shift is the way to go. Some of my Ski trips I end up doing No touring, basically would i be better of renting touring skis and going with Alpine bindning? I got dalbello lupo ax 130 boots so i got boots for touring. Is the shift binding a solid option event of u end up only skiing lift accessed terrain for a week or so?
Thoughts , suggestions and experiences are welcome

The shift is definitely one of the best hybrid options, another thing to take a look into is the CAST system (the only real downside is how long changeovers take when you're touring). In my personal experience as well as friends the shifts ski really great and you won't notice any lack of performance, however if you are an extremely aggressive skier in the resort I have seen a couple of them break. But keep in mind this is only if you are spinning natural features and dropping 30 footers on the regs.

Yep, I use the older version myself but have friends on the new one. You can't find a better touring setup out there when it comes to ski performance and safety, being able to swap from a dynafit toe piece to going downhill on STH 16's is a game changer. My one large complaint is just that changeovers take twice as long, so if time is a constraint for you in the backcountry take that into account. If you are touring into the backcountry for the sole purpose of freeskiing (or trying to in my case haha) they are great, but if you are trying to go on longer walks where you need to be efficient with time to make it back by sundown I would look towards the shifts. It's all just a matter of where you want to take your skiing in the future :)
