I have skied there.............. Bruce Willis owned this for a while, the lodge burnt down back in the late 2000's and he put some money into it bringing everything up to date and you could go up and ski with his daughters(I never did this but heard stories). It is a great price for a hill, main problem is that is is not in the greatest area for snow fall. Some seasons it wont even open because of this, other mountains around it like Sun Valley or Bogus Basin will be open but Soldier cant because of no snow. It is a great little area, definitely that small town vibe......... a couple hundred people. Im willing to throw some money into the pool.

Im in! Now, as a part owner I propose some ground rules i think NS will be in favor of.

- Strictly Terrain Park (No moguls)
- Jump/Rainbow rails over rusty, spikes in a moat to keep Jerry entirely out of the parks
- ALL Snowboarders MUST be accompanied by a Skier who can flip (back or front)
- Bud Dispensaries located on Top, Bottom, and Half way.
- Graffiti Artists Welcome! (no dick drawings tho)
- Ski Patrol wardrobe changed to Pirate theme
- All lifts run at x2 speed
- Open 24-7 with dope lights on all trails
- Hologram Teachers (T.W, Henrik, Dumont, Ect.) in all parks, playing live-action trick tips on loop.
- Free Cotton Candy
- Free Bud Light
- Free Tacos
- A gattling gun, but it shoots t-shirts
- Strippers and Hoes chillin' (All the time)
- Concerts (No classic rock cover bands)
- All trail names are heavily Bruce Willis related, in hopes to have him become our Brand Ambassador

My guess is because it was a non-profit and it was dissolving with the sale. It's worth more obviously but $149k was the debt and I'm pretty sure individual entities can't profit from a non-profit sale. Since the non-profit was only associated with the ski area, it will die with the sale, so since the board members can't profit, they must sell it for net even.

Let's say that on the high end NS has 1,500 active members right now. Every member would have to donate about $540 to get the mountain. As much as I hate r/skiing they have 412,000 subscribers. If we where even to get 10,000 of r/skiing to get on board we could bring that number down to $70. NS could run the park.

Also, if @X_ANKILLA starts using Dr. Sebis model selling herbs and spices for $1,000 a pop we could have a good chunk of change for initial operating costs.

Also, if @X_ANKILLA starts using Dr. Sebis model selling herbs and spices for $1,000 a pop we could have a good chunk of change for initial operating costs.

Damn thats wiiiiiiild, honestly, i was hoping that someone who can do math like that would chime in. Also NS can run it as long as they follow ALL of our ground rules, and put me on. Full time, with benefits and housing... and new sticks every season.

I remember this story. It was on Newschoolers before. The non-profit took applications to buy the mountain, and then the couple that was selected were from Bend, OR (where I was living). Sounds like it isn’t as great as the couple hoped it would be, considering it was his “biggest dream”. However when they sell they will certainly make a GOOD profit in such a short time.
