Perhaps you would need to have oxygen concentrating machines in the rooms, but i imagine it would feel good to be surrounded by snow in the middle of summer.
Whats Stopping them from doing this?

evaroniIt’s been easier to build/develop other places. Just wait a few years and the Forrest service will take the payout and there will be condos and homes in the six figure range that are occupied an average of 20 days per year.

DolanReloadedWhy do you think they would be unpopular, bc altitude sickness?
WillgumWhen you mentioned the Oxygen machines I was about to say suck it up but then I checked the elevation and holy fuck 10k feet at the base. Wonder what effects people have from living at 10k for months at a time.
theabortionatorThat's a dope thing about Aspen. Housing can be tough ish, but plenty of 5+ mil homes sitting empty other than christmas, feb break, and some random week in the summer.
Film.Great thing about that though is ski bums can occupy them and be the housekeepers. While Joey Diaz isn't the biggest ski bum I would love to get that gig https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcfEBhkD6qw

theabortionatorIt's more than 10k I think. Idk, you get used to it pretty easy. I lived at 9500 for a couple summers. Drank more than I've drank in my life, road hard, hiked a bunch, and didn't die.
I don't know if I've actually read anything but I feel like it's healthy to live at altitude. I know it's good athletic wise. Idk. 11k ain't gonna kill you.
loshI actually read an article that said living at altitude can fuck with your mental health, and that's part of the reason why suicide rates among people living in the Rockys are like 3 times higher than the national average. Could be a number of other factors, but they attributed high altitude to it. I don't think the research is super sound yet, but it was a pretty recent article. But living at altitude makes you feel like a super hero when you drink at sea level which is cool.

SkiBum.Besides taking more water to cook your rice, none.
High elevation living is nothing new. Some say it’s healither. It’s only 10,000k.
WillgumYeah I can imagine your body adapts pretty well. I'm wondering if there's any effects to the brain, mood, cognitive function, etc... There's a few papers that suggest things like that but it isn't highly studied : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK232882/
