Wondering if this is the same ski, looks different than all the other models I’ve seen.
So are those the black and green skis we see on the Evo pics next to the Catamaran? Return of the Powabunga, or something new? Tip looks wide, tail looks...mega tapered.

The ski you are thinking of is the Pontoon. This is a differnt ski from the future

Edit: the white ones arent the XDS are they. Well heres my 4 guesses:
1. New booster strap (or equivalent) as you have said you prefer that one yourself ;)
2. New liner, my guess, palau since thats what the austrian boot brands usually use.
3. New burlyer sole
4. New buckles

Skinnier more park oriented variant of the BO 98. ~80mm underfoot.

The goal Rossignol is shooting for is to have a three ski Black Ops quiver. Expect a big marketing push from them starting in the fall

I’m very curious to see what rossignol does with the camber profile of the pro. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a fall camber more “traditional” park shape.
But hey I’m still holding out for an updated Sickle.

Got my first day on the Proto yesterday and, so far, I'm a big fan. Was skiing ~3" of fresh snow on top of hardpack, and the main thing that stood out was how crazy loose it was (I did use a gummy stone at the tips and tails, factory tune is crazy sharp).
Almost effortless to throw sideways. Ended up just straightlining groomers and then throwing it into big, extended drifts. Definitely the most faceshots I've gotten in only 3" of fresh. It's also quite damp, but didn't have the best high-speed stability on firm / variable snow since it felt like the tips got knocked off track fairly easily for how heavy and stiff it is (probably a result of all that taper that seems to make it so loose). But the ski feels super solid on landings.
To me, it seems like it was designed for how Permin skis in Alaska — making big, slarved turns and then also landing big drops and running it out through avy debris. So far, seems like it's more of a pow ski and less of a firm chop / crud charger (doesn't track as well as Black Ops 118 on firm / variable). Also, the mount point felt oddly far back for how playful it was. I ended up liking it more at +2, and will probably go even further forward next time.
Anyone have any more beta on the mind bender boot? Really interested as k2 boots have been a good fit for my foot for the past few seasons and a new freeride/touring offering from k2 really piques my interest as long as fit stays similar. Cheers.

I'll let Tom confirm, but to me, it seems like they took the Recon and added a walk mode, tech fittings, and grip walk soles. Curious to see stated weights and ROM.

Thanks dude!! They ski noticeably better than the old boot. Still a 110 flex, but the extra height of the cuff & liner and the shell & cuff reinforcements really do increase the progressiveness of the boot and how well it skis. You'll dig it.

We need details on the rear entry boot. Any links or firsthand knowledge you can share? Kids sizes a potential offering?
