Replying to Salt Lake Trip

Planning a trip to SLC Dec 27-Jan 5 with my lil bro. We have housing taken care of, but what's the best way to get ski passes? I've skied brighton and solitude out there, loved em both, have a hard time believing anything in the cottonwoods can be much worse. We're just some broke college kids, I'm trying to find the cheapest passes we can get. I looked at the ikon base pass but the blackout dates don't really work for us. Any suggestions? We're from Michigan so any type of season pass is kinda pointless because we'll probably ski about 5 days only.
