Limiting people to having 2 children per couple?

People complained a lot about China's one child policy, but was it really that bad? We have 7.6 billion people on this earth and people are still cranking out 5+ kids. Then those kids are cranking out more kids.

We're like rabbits. Just fucking and popping out more and more.

Personally I'd be very okay with a 2 or 3 child limit going forward. I get that on the one hand, some people are able to support a big family and give them a great life. I get that, and can see it as an argument. The downside is there will still be more kids than needed going forward who will get older and start their own families.

At a certain point we need to start thinking about controlling this shit. It's already pretty out of hand, but seems to be something to unpopular to discuss. Do people really need to have 7 kids? I get that in the old days there were less people, and birth control wasn't really a thing. It's 2018 though. Absolute worst case you can get free condoms.


Like Bob Barker always said, "Help control the human population. Take the pill, get a vasectomy, get your tubes tied, check out your local abortion clinic, or wear a fucking condom".

Full agreement. I think what gets people is say they want a boy, after two girls do you roll the dice and go for the third? But some people just want tons of kids. It’s really impressive whenyou look at the amount of people with 0 kids yet they’re still outbalanced

Yeah I feel you. And def. The wanting a boy or girl is a reason some people keep sending it. Idk why people wont adopt. Also pretty sweet that christians generally have bigger families, are strongly against abortion, hate gay people and fighting gay adoption, and very rarely ever adopt.

I spent years in churches and don't really remember anybody that adopted kids. Obviously some do, but its not an ultra common deal.

They protest abortion (I was at the huge "march for life" in DC with my parents a few times and dozens of other protests) but then they don't adopt kids, they pop out more kids, and want to ban perfectly normal couples that aren't having kids from adopting.

If somebody is against abortion but has adopted a kid, at least they seem steady with their beliefs. There is no shortage of kids that need permanent homes and people need to realize that their genes probably aren't all that special.

Yeah. Also there were those dirty cunts who had like 18 kids and a tv show. I hope they've since lost the ability to reproduce.

Also many religious people are against sex education because "abstinence is the only safe sex" while technically true, people are going to have sex. Not everyone thinks Jesus is going to strike them with lightnight if they hump each other. But obviously teen pregnancies are way better, especially when condoms and abortions are the devil and adoption is for the birds.

It's worth mentioning that it's not easy to adopt kids. You don't just go to the kid store and pick one out, and there are basically no American babies to adopt since everyone adopting wants kids that look like them if they can find one that needs a home.

i guess i dont understand. The birth rate is already 2, even though some people have 10 kids the average is still 2. Is the problem that most people with tons of kids are usually wackos and the normal people stick at one or 2? some idiocracy shiz


Also i think the whole fear of birth control dealio is gonzo. I cant really think of anyone in the younger generations that still goes with that shit like they did back when it first came out. So that will help in the future

As a father of two (and done) I agree.

I also think there should be a test you must pass in order to reproduce. I don't mean a genetic T4 program kind of test for breeding the master race, just something basic to ensure you're not thinking about having ten kids and locking them in a basement in Sacramento or something along those lines. Some very basic stability and competency.

I'm 28 and thought that I would never want kids but I'm starting to come around to the idea of having some. I grew up with 3 brothers and a sister and it was awesome. They were always dragging me around with them and letting me tag along. My parents did well for themselves so they could afford a big family. My only thought on having more than one kid would be it would suck to be an only child. Your sibling is supposed to be your partner in crime and best bud, your protector and confidant. I dont know, it would have sucked growing up an only child.

Growing populations are a good thing. Old people don't contribute shit and most are going to live until they are near 100 you need young people to sustain them. People having a fuckload of kids that can afford it to offset childless people is a good thing.

Once you have 4 or 5 kids you literally pay zero federal income tax, assuming you aren't loaded and work a normal job, and once you get that system running itself they pretty much watch each other. The key is to get that budget down lower than your annual child tax credit.

At this moment, society respects NSG threads with the upmost regard. There is no doubt that this is a turning point in our society. When people read this thread they will think "this makes sense I need to have less children". Soon the global population decreases. Without the extra people in the world, there is a serious decrease in the amount of people that use the internet. With a decrease in internet traffic, less people post on NS. I remember being told that early on in the settlement of the US, when the protestants or whatever set up shop that the mortality rates of course were insane and that most families would have a lot of kids because a few of them would die early on or at birth, so it was important to have at least a few kids on hand to help with farm work and stuff, idk. i think it just carried on throughout history with religion and families and was instilled into peoples fabrics nowadays which is why mormons and stuff have a ton of kids. plus not believing in abortion, safe sex practices, and disregarding womens health and birth control probably has a lot to do with that too.

i dont think a law like that would ever work here in the US until its like hunger games shit and we're killing each other for a bread roll, but we could probably start teaching a lot of these young families and kids better ways to not use up all of the limited resources and work on sustaining stuff as it already is.

The problem is that we currently have an economic system that requires a growing population to work. For now adoption from other countries should defiantly be easier and more encouraged because that would increase to population while not effecting the global population

I knew people that joined who didn't even ski. There used to be tons of cool welcoming people that wouldn't thrash on people just for fun. Now we got people like iFlip who are fucking cum buckets who smash new users and tell them to never come back. So fuck you, fuck the name thief trolls, fuck theabortinator for being soft as fuck and no longer banning people and only cleaning up messes. Downvote me I don't give a fuck. Somehow I got in a poll and won without giving a fuck. I actually am on the site regularly even when traveling giving advice, deleting stuff for people etc. I get rid of a lot of bullshit, but Im not banhammer happy.

But yeah one or two threads and youre saying this?

Maybe read some stuff and stick around before trying to be a dick. This site is a cool place, go explore.

Im wayyy more helpful than I used to be, and even when I trolled hard, I dont think I ever met an NSer on the hill or bar that still hated me after a beer or a lap.

Let's be honest. China and India are ruining it for everyone and account for 35% of the worldwide population and are quite bad at pollution. Growth is exponential. Imagine 50 years from now when all those people have kids and their kids have kids. Fuck.

The US is #3 for population at around 330mil of the ~7.5bil people worldwide. Fun fact: the US grows by net 1 person every 14 seconds. Which equates to 2,252,572 people growth per year currently. That number is only going to grow as our population gets bigger and science advances.

We have the land for population and so does China. India does not. The problem is greenhouse gasses and growing and hunting food for all those people. That's where we need to get our shit together. Populations in nature go through cycles of rising and lowering populations based on resources. The same will happen to us, just on a much slower basis....or as a result of our own nature.

What's probably going to happen, is the next world War is gonna wipe out hundreds of millions of people- maybe even a billion or two and will slow the population growth.
