Vishnu all mountain

I have been looking around at skis and I noticed that the Vishnus look sick and they are definitely in my price range. My only biggy is are these skis good for all mountain and if I end up in about 6-12 inches of pow could they be ridden? I ski in Pennsylvania and I am in the park a ton but I do go to Quebec and Vermont every once in a while.

Thoughts?

Vishnu's are pretty park specific. You could maybe take a look at their wide... But still a park ski. Definitely not "all mountain"

I definitely ride park 95% of the time but once a year we go to canada and we mainly will ride trees. Will they hold up to that type of riding?

i mean they're obviously not an all mtn ski per se, theyre symmetrical noodles. that said, theyll do just fine for occasional stuff out of the park. won't be great in soft snow cause theyre center mount (therefore you have as much tail as you do nose and so you might have some tip dive) but shit some people choose to ski pow on centered skis!

long story short, you'll be fine but if it's a concern of yours, there are much better skis to be bought that are meant for a split between park and all mtn

I would look into the line blend. It is still a really fun ski, but still has enough underfoot to allow you to ski powder and trees when you want to. You can still center mount it too for park and have it ski decently out of the park as well.

I've already owned line skis and I am not really looking into their skis anymore. Also I need a durable ski cause I don't have enough money for multiple pairs

When I skied on the east coast I preferred stiffer skis with more camber. I could definitely see vishnus being sketch on ice

honestly vishnus are dope in powder. theyre soft and rockered enough to handle it and the narrow waist makes face shots unavoidable. go back to the park as soon as things get skied out though, theyre pretty rough in chunder or at high speeds

They rip all over the mountain to be completely honest. Everything from park to trees to moguls to bombing down blacks they held up for me, and I’m a big dude that pushed the ski every day i rode it. They do get a little squirrelly at high speeds though.

No ones said anything about the wides yet?
Just a wider ‘skinny’ with a little bit more stiffness and toned down rocker.

They do well in deep snow. In 2007 a 90mm underfoot rockered ski was the choice for bc jumps, now that a skinny park ski. They obviously are going to ski pow like a Hellbent, but they get the job done.

I think the majority of people replying to this thread have never skied in PA and don't understand that's it's just bulletproof ice 98% of the time. It's by far the worst of east coast skiing

Theyre not bad honestly, super fun in tight trees cuz they pivot on a dime, they have a ton of rocker so if you know how to ski theyre not bad in powder at all. They have a mellow sidecut so edge hold on firm days especially after hitting rails isnt wildly good but I ride em out of the park all the time and especially if youre a jibby skier theyre a solid option

The wide is designed for exactly the kind of skiing you want to do, same fun ski as the wet but just wide enough for a little bit of deep snow.

PS almost our whole team skis at Brighton here in Utah and most choose the wet for skiing pow (before the wides were a thing) simply because they are so maneuverable and responsive
