Someone said this in the comments of a video a couple weeks ago and it got me thinking.
More and more skiers have been posting their clips only to Intstagram rather than uploading edits to Newschoolers, Vimeo, Youtube, etc. Seeing clips on Instagram is awesome because it provides up to date insights on a certain skiers progression and lifestyle. The problem is that with all the focus of people keeping up a good insta feed, fully developed edits are declining.
Personally, I would much rather watch my favourite skiers in an official edit form as opposed to random clips staggered throughout an app where it is impossible to search for specific clips (therefore hard to find after a while). I think instagram edits are still dope, but if you are already taking the time to film clips and add music, why not just post it to an online site where it can be appreciated for longer?
Maybe I'm just imagining this but I believe numerous edits are being lost to instagram. Let me know what you think.
