ISO 5355,WTR jargon etc

Just as i smashed the purchase button on some shiny new attack 13’s i noticed how only the 14’s accept 5355 and WTR soles.With only a little research (skimmed the evo article) about different soles I was wondering how likely it would be for me
to have problems with a sole/binding clash if i’m renting boots. For example if i walked in the shop and asked for boots for a week and they end up being ISO 5355 or WTR i could just ask for alpine sole boots?

if your renting boots its very unlikley that you get non alpine boots

Why would you buy bindings but no boots, boots are the most important part of equipment in my opinion

If youre renting boots theyll almost deffo be alpine.

Now go buy some boots idk wtf would drive you to buy skis and bindings instead

No worries man you'll be good I think, if you rent boots they'll almost certainly be alpine boots

Wait a sec I don't pay attention to all the boot stuff much..I thought ISO 5355 was alpine..?

ISO 5355 = Alpine Norm
ISO 9523 = Touring Norm
WTR & Grip Walk are specific subsets within the Touring Norm

99.99% of rental boots are 5355. You're starting to see some Grip Walk in rental, but they would never purposefully give you a Grip Walk boot without asking you.
