The world is a pretty scary place at the moment as hate and death continue to flood our news, eyes, and ears every second of every day. We are raising awareness for LOVE by fundraising for authentic and empowering charities. We are emphasizing the fact that we are all HUMANS and underneath our skin, we are all the same.
Join Nick Lawson as he runs solo from the Southernmost tip to the northernmost tip of Africa, journeying up the East coast and through 23 countries. He will make the journey the whole way alone, but he will never be alone because the whole world will be joining him in some way. Humans from every country on this planet will join him.

We CAN do this.

Your friend wants to be the guy that did _____________ whatever the hell he's doing, vacation, and get everyone else to pay for it. He was expecting to be on the news, have all the top hollywood celebs sending him money and taking selfies with him when he got back. People were going to send him a million etc.

Shockingly most people saw this as a poorly thought out, self promotion attempt rather than the catalyst of changing the world. Your friend hasn't even been running, it really doesn't say much about him.

I lost interest and stopped following. Now that there is no "story," no "challenge," and it has simply become a vacation, what's the point in following? He's barely running. It's a walk and drive across Africa, on the backs (financial support) of others. I find it completely deplorable.

Nick is desperate for the "look at me" attention and it's disgusting. The fact that a white middle/upper class individual can go on a walking/driving vacation across Africa, supported by others, is truly a slap in the face to all the Africans he encounters.

Notice how he no longer even bothers to post mileage? He probably has stopped even keeping track of it for himself. What a truly useless human being.

Fundraising will definitely be necessary. Here are some estimates of expenses that I'll need to raise $$ for:
$7,000 for Puffs 2-ply tissues (3 tissues per session x 365 sessions)
$50,000 for new fiberoptic WiFi subscription with Verizion Fios
$300,000 for the camera and media crew
$1,000 for purell for the camera and media crew
$100,000 for my pet turtle to post the video to twitter and newschoolers from my basement
$0 for lotion because bare hands = love
