My friend is about to run for 365 days straight. A marathon a day. Barefoot. South to North of Africa. Global fundraiser.

Every nation. The Human Race. For Love and for this World.
The world is a pretty scary place at the moment as hate and death continue to flood our news, eyes, and ears every second of every day. We are raising awareness for LOVE by fundraising for authentic and empowering charities. We are emphasizing the fact that we are all HUMANS and underneath our skin, we are all the same.
Join Nick Lawson as he runs solo from the Southernmost tip to the northernmost tip of Africa, journeying up the East coast and through 23 countries. He will make the journey the whole way alone, but he will never be alone because the whole world will be joining him in some way. Humans from every country on this planet will join him.

We CAN do this.

It is not possible to make it through NE Africa without extensive support, security and nation approval (not to mention the run itself).
Watch out for the most deadly terrorist organization in the world... they creep all around north Africa, although not directly on the route. NBD.

Dropping my comment so someone can attempt to prove me wrong, but otherwise following.

Yeah assuming he doesn't get killed (by animals, disease, or warlords) or kidnapped (like every other unassuming American entering a war zone), or assuming his feet don't rub raw in the first week, what about his heart? Running a marathon a day is a great way to risk cardiac arrest. Healthy people die in marathons all the time- imagine doing 365 back to back. Just my two cents. Also he should just donate this money rather than wasting it running though poverty striken lands with a gopro that costs more than some people there make in a decade.

I just noticed he is running the East Coast of Africa. I guess it's KINDA the safest.... Wait not really. On the west coast you have shit, more shit, and cannibalistic warlords who eat children and some ebola. Then on the east coast, you've got good old fashioned ISIS and Al Qaeda who are oh so friendly to Christian Americans these days oh and pirates too..... Fucking pirates.... Here's a list of the most dangerous countries in Africa in 2016 with the safest at the top (kinda outdated but the general list is pretty consistent since the violence in NE Africa is just great these days). This dude is running through Sudan, Libya, Egypt, and Somalia. *gulp*... Good luck to your friend. He has a high chance of dying so make sure to say your goodbyes. I hope he lives, but seriously this is a very risky quest for (let's be real) low rewards for the general good of the region. Seriously do update us on his progress....

Oh and you never accepted the bet from that dude. $200 was it?

So he is still doing it even though, like I've pointed out, he's not even raised 2% of the goal?

I'll continue being a hater, and I'll ask for your budget so you can explain why you need as much money to trot barefoot in Africa for no tangible gain as that African school you spoke of would need to teach thousands of kids over the course of years and years. My best friend spent 16 years of his life in Cameroon because his parents built a hospital and ran it (they are very Christian doctors from Louisiana). They believed in something and they moved their life there and made ends meet. I couldn't possibly imagine you standing in front of his parents and explaining this absurdly selfish nonsense to them and justifying even a fraction of the money he is requesting. Their hospital could run for a while on that.

You are a fucking dipshit. If this guy gets the money and finishes, I'll remind you of how you wasted a year of his time and a fuckload of money to do literally nothing to help anyone. It doesn't matter how nice he is or how pure his intentions, he needs to be told that this idea is fucking retarded and he could do much more good in the world elsewhere.

I'm thinking of running his route before him in the name of hate. I'll run the whole way too instead of taking a car half the way. I'm going to wear shoes though because that's just smart.

I don't need any doctors or media team but I am thinking of starting a gofundme for necessities for the trip like wine, beer, and liquor. Maybe even some food and a place to sleep.

I think to match his gimmick of running barefoot I'll run the whole thing with a bottle of wine in my hand. I'll drink a whole bottle of wine at least every marathon.

Also if I get killed along the way it will be a perfect showing for my cause of hate

Any takers?
