The world is a pretty scary place at the moment as hate and death continue to flood our news, eyes, and ears every second of every day. We are raising awareness for LOVE by fundraising for authentic and empowering charities. We are emphasizing the fact that we are all HUMANS and underneath our skin, we are all the same.
Join Nick Lawson as he runs solo from the Southernmost tip to the northernmost tip of Africa, journeying up the East coast and through 23 countries. He will make the journey the whole way alone, but he will never be alone because the whole world will be joining him in some way. Humans from every country on this planet will join him.

We CAN do this.

You can donate your winnings to his crappy loving-himself platform if you win, and if I win I'll do something worthwhile with the money, like buy pretzels. How about we bet $200, and I'll pay up if he makes it to the 180-day mark. Heck, I'll do 2-1, and wager my $400 versus your $200 that he doesn't make it to 180 days. What say you? Way to stand behind your word. I'm impressed. Let's set the rules and make a virtual handshake on the bet. Rules:

1: He must run (or walk) 26.2 or more miles each day. If he falls short of this on any one day, you lose.
2: I'll allow that he may wear shoes, even though he says he is going to run barefoot. In my opinion, wearing shoes does not negate his effort.
3: If after 180 days from the day he begins he has run/walked a marathon or more each and every single day, I will give you $400 USD. I will be happy to pay with PayPal, a personal check, or a money order, whichever you prefer.
4: If at any point during the first 180 days of his attempt he falls short of doing a 26.2 mile day, you must pay me $200 USD.
5: The rules above are binding. No exemptions for cold/hot/sick/travel issues/family issues/etc. He says he has this all planned out...we will see.

If you accept the rules outlined above, I extend my hand in a virtual handshake. Do you agree to the terms?

Anyways, he's meant to be starting in 6 weeks according to the website. And in 4 months he's not even raised 2% of the goal (just proving how absolutely absurd it really was).

So from that, I can only assume he's not actually going to even attempt it and just pocket that money? Can OP please confirm what's actually gonna happen?

I hate to join the haters... but this is whack as fuck.
It is not possible to make it through NE Africa without extensive support, security and nation approval (not to mention the run itself).
Watch out for the most deadly terrorist organization in the world... they creep all around north Africa, although not directly on the route. NBD.
