Binding durabilty

For my next pair of skis I have decided to buy the FKS bindings. But I don't know what to choose. I'm torn between the 120 and the 140s, due to the 120s being a lower price, but having a plastic plate, and the 140s are metal, and I ride allota everything, and I am also a type III (big deal, right?) skier, and I like to ski fast and keep my bindings for a few years. I am tall and lanky, at 6' and 150 pounds.

140s aren't metal. Sorry, but they aren't.

Sure.

Old Salomon 916s are have a lot of metal. FKS/Pivot 15/18s have a lot of metal. Tyrolia MOJO/Peak 15/17/18/20s do too.

No bindings are purely metal. they all have plastic parts that wear out. Toe wings on every binding will break. Same with AFDs. Even the FKS18 has some composite in the heels that will wear out or break.

Yeah, the 120s and the 140s almost exactly the same binding, the only difference is the DIN range (the 120s max out at 12 and the 140s max out at 14). The only metal versions of the FKS bindings are the 155s (not made anymore, but if you search the Sell/Trade forum you can find some) and the 180s. Given I'm guessing you don't need an 18 DIN binding, I would search for some 155s, if you can't find those, just get the 120s unless you need a DIN of 9 or higher.
