off road riding. Dirt tracks, maybe some gravel. Stuff similar to a cross course

Was looking at the Warhawk CycloCross Bike but they didnt have it in my size (58). Anyone have suggestions?

NO!!!!!!! Run as far away as you can from that bike. Yes the price is cheep, but that is for a reason. The stem and bars are all wrong for the geometry of that bike. If you were to sit on it and ride it you will see what I mean. Its way to stretched out and the hoods are so uncomfortable.

If you can get your budget up to $1,000 there are some great Raleigh and Redline SSSX bikes out there. If you would rather have gears you have to spend a little more.

If your really set on this bike (because of the price) set aside an extra $80 for a shorter stem and some shallow drop bars. Do that and the bike will fell much more comfortable.

Looks like you live in either Summit county or the Denver area. Jump on craigslist and look at that Felt SSCX bike for $650. Its only $55 more than that other bike but you will save that in taxes. Its a 59cm but cross frames run small for easy mounting and dismounting. WAY BETTER BIKE

I would check out that Felt if its in your area. No offence to the Warhawk but the quality of that bike is somewhere between Walmart and Target. The Felt would be legit if you can get it for $650. Its probably 8 lbs lighter than that Warhawk and everything from the frame, wheels, tires, brakes, drive train, and fork are better quality. The nice thing about SSCX bike is there is little to no maintenance that you have do. The most important thing with a SSCX bike is chain tension and the ring on the Warhawk is a softer cheaper metal and you will notice that the ring is not true round and that makes it very hard to keep the right tension.

look at the niner rlt 9 steel. if you are thinking about doing longer rides and gravel the steel will be a lot more forgiving than the aluminum. not sure what your budget is, but i really think you get what you pay for and reynolds 853 steel will last you forever
