ON3P Kartel(98 or 106) vs. Moment PB&J

I am a bigger guy - 6'2" and 230 lbs.

I have a pair of Armada Magic J's that get me through most good days, so I am looking for a ski to just party on. 60% cruising around the mountain, jibbing, hitting natural features and stuff - and 40% park.

Because I am a bigger dude I like having a little bit more of a platform to land on underfoot and have plenty of power to throw skis around.

Is the Kartel 106 going to be too stiff and big to party-time?
Is the PB&J too much of an all mountain ski, that I will compromise playfulness?
Is there another ski out there that I am missing? Something wide and super playful?

Any advice is helpful.

hot.pocketThe PB&J is an incredibly playful ski. Early rise in the tip and tail give way to easy, quick turns and help with buttering and playful things of that nature. It will be on the stiffer side, but not "holy shit these don't bend" stiff.

Some people choose the PB&J for park skiing when they want something a little wider than the Vice, while a good portion choose the PB&J strictly for all mountain skiing, it works everywhere.

As far as the Kartel goes, give it some time and plenty of members will come in to say they love it, I just can't give personal experience of riding it.

Mr.BishopKartel 106 sounds like its going to be perfect for you. In my experience its a great mixture of all mountain, fun in the park, stiff enough to be solid yet soft enough it won't ruin your play day.... some rocker and loads of awesome.

If you were saying more park performance than big mountain, I might suggest slightly narrower and softer... but since you're saying 60% cruising around the mountain I would definitely recommend this ski.

slickrockDamn this makes my decision just as difficult. the Kartel is a little cheaper right now and maybe more durable than the PB&J.

S.J.W.Honestly Id go with the K106. I absolutely love mine. They are pretty stiff, but they get soft towards the tips and the rocker makes them playful as well. So you can get sendy when you want to and playful when you want to. Durable, on sale, they look sick, and they're just super fun. Get them.
