Replying to Medical Shit Show

So I janked my knee two months ago and tore my Lateral Meniscus in two pieces right through the middle. I under went meniscal repair surgery and the docter made two attempts to stitch it back but it has popped both times. He wants to try a third but I am thinking about pulling the plug on it and haveing a menisectomy. My question to NS is how many of you are skiing with out some or all of your meniscus particularly the lateral? I am only 16 so the doc says we have to make every effort to repair it but i honestly dont know if its plausible at this point.
