Earl_GlobzYou guys are gonna be so mad at me, but i just saw Dead & Co. and John Mayer was fucking incredible. And I grew up with a big sister, i heard all the shit, including John Mayers, shitty, poppy music. That being said he absolutely destroyed. Like the list of live guitarists I've seen in my life goes; #1 Eric Clapton #2 John mayer. And believe me, it pains me to say that. But thats the real.
theabortionatorFuck that. I was telling everyone on tour when the rumors were out about that yo fuck off when ever I heard hate about him. I can't stand his pop music but that dude can fucking shred. Anyone who didn't believe it didn't use their ears or was too fucking stubborn. I went to a few shows on the fall tour and it was awesome seeing him shred peoples bullshit hate.
Also if anyone want to see Glimour I have tickets to the hollywood bowl and MSG. I think I might be out of the country the whole tour so I'm selling my tickets and going to try to make another stop. Face value which isn't cheap, something like 115 for msg and 140 for hbowl but this is probably his last tour in the US.
I have them on cash or trade but figured I'd mention it while this thread is here.
FrenchFryI agree i guess. He is sooooo talented but man, he's a sell out, making shitty pop music ruins it for me. He's so disingenuous.
theabortionatorMeh.
You're this really good italian chef but everyone where you live wants burgers and fries. Are you a horrible person for opening up a burgers and fries restaurant?
That's an i just woke up analogy so idk.
But he's gotta make a living. There aren't that many people who are just going to go here a sick guitar player these days. Sure he probably could have put together a better band but whatever. He made his money and now he can do whatever he wants.
I can't really hate on that even though his music makes me want to drive my car off a bridge.
FrenchFryI don't like that argument "he's gotta make a living". He's not staying true to his art. You can still make money as a musician. Just depends how much you want, if you need millions then he's in the wrong field of work. No one needs that much money. He's crazy talented and should stick to blues.
