Replying to New Venture

I'm deciding to pursue photography and videography. Well in the first day I got asked to shoot a bands promo video. There's a lot of questions I have. Should I be renting a better camera than a t3i? Should I be renting better lenses? Anything I should be concerned about? I already said yes that I'll do it so any tips would help. Should i be shooting glidecam the whole time? should I shoot handheld? Should I hire a buddy of mine to help do some some of the further away shots of the crowd and such?

Most importantly, how much should I charge? I don't want to sell myself short nor do I want to overcharge.
