Line Blends for Japow?

I'm moving to Japan in August to study abroad. During the winter break, I will make a week trip to Hokkaido to ski some deep powder. I know this might sound like a stupid question but do you guys think the blends will work good in the deep snow or should I go ahead and get a the Francis bacon or Candide 3.0. Thanks for the help.

I would personally get the candide 3.0 just because of the waist width

I'll probably get called out for having a biased opinion but I would highly recommend the Line Mordecai's. I actually skied them for the first time last year in hokkaido so they are definitely perfect for the snow/terrain. This is a clip from hokkaido on mordecai's. I'd say they can handle anything

if my opinion can't be trusted here's objective truth that your Blend's will also do just fine in incredibly deep snow from a couple weeks ago:

100mm underfoot is wide enough for powder. You just need to know how to ski powder that's all.

I'm using Soul Riders as my one and only set, as long as you're okay with less float then a true pow ski you'll be good to go

^ the above post was totally unsolicited from LJ (thanks for that btw LJ) and yep.. a Blend can totally hold up in deep snow. The SFB is only a bit wider at 104 but the Mordecai is that special waist width and has all those lovely taper and early rise angles that make it that much more special. We'll be over there with EP launching a new ski of his in early February in Myoko and can't wait! enjoy!

IMO a fat ski is much better at park and groomer ripping than a skinny ski is at powder skiing. IMO always go fatter if you plan on getting more than 10 soft snow days in per year.

This, I've had the chronics for a few years and love them, but this fall I picked up some 3.0s planning on using the for a bit of backcountry and deep pow days. Once I started riding them though I fell in love and they have become my daily driver. It sounds weird considering they are flat camber and slightly heavier than my chronic but they are super poppy and lightweight for their size.

if your looking for some super fat planks id go with a liberty helix or double helix, great skis

I've skied both the blends and the bacons. I thought the bacons were a significantly better ski in all aspects. They turn better, feel lighter and livelier and just feel better. I wouldn't take either of them for park, since I like my 85mm waist park skis for that. The bacons are just a fantastic ski though. If I lived somewhere it it actually snowed/wasn't NJ then I'd have a pair.
