Sony a5100 vs Nikon D3300

So tomorrow I'm going in to get my first camera. They are both about the same price, come with the 18-55 kit lens, 55-200 lens, SD card, and camera bag. Pretty good deals as they are on sale. Im just not sure which one to go with.

Ill be using this camera for almost anything and everything. The sony will be better for video, but I think the Nikon would be better for photo. Ill probably use this camera for 50/50 video/photo. Im just not sure which one I should choose. I know ill be happy with both but if I could get any feedback from you guys that would be great. Thanks!

Also Ill give out loads of k+ to whoever replies since I'm gonna be buying in less than 24 hours and need all the feedback I can get. Ive been watching vids and reading reviews but I'm still conflicted.

Sony makes great mirrorless cameras. I love E mount too.

-touch screen
-way more focus points
-flip out screen

D3300
-way more lenses
-better battery life
-2/100 better image quality (no difference really)
-mic jack

As much as I love Sony id say the choice is d3300

Dang dude, you picked almost the exact same camera to decide between. Both have 24mp and 1080p at 60fps. If it was my choice I would go with the Sony for faster photo burst and its better in low light as it has native ISO 25600 and the Nikon is extended to 25600. Also the Sony has XAVC S which is much better then H.264 which the Nikon has. The Sony can also load custom picture profiles so you can get a flat image which is good for grading in post and the Nikon can't. Good luck and hope you like your new camera!

I got the Nikon d3300 and I love every part about it except the auto focus is a little loud and you can hear it unless you get an external mic.

I Suggest You The a5100 will autofocus better but video quality will be the same because that depends on your skill. I'd rather recommend a Sony Ha

Can you read? I already bought the cam. Also autofocus doesn't matter because manual is the way to go.
