Another Phone Thread

My phone is just about shot and I'm looking to get a new one. I have an iPhone 5 right now and really like it. Its just getting old, the screen is cracked and the battery is really shitty right now. Plus my case isn't holding up too well so I might as well get a new phone right? haha

Main things I'm looking for are a solid battery life. Preferably ones that don't die in the cold - unless thats how all phones are then nvm. Also I don't want a huge screen that's going to brake easily. I tend to drop my phone a lot so.

I really like how iPhones are set up. I know how to use them and really don't want to spend the time getting used to something else. Unless there is something that is wayyy better, then I don't really want to switch. I'm looking an iPhone 6 or 6s but honestly don't know the difference except for the price haha.

MinggAll I do with my phone is call, text, take pictures/video, go on Instagram, and go on NS lol. I really don't need anything that great tbh. I just want something that isn't gonna break or die after only a couple hours. It doesn't even need to be that fast lol.

I've also ruled out iPhone 6 and 6+ because they bend and no thank you.


So here I was sitting on the couch stoked with my iPhone since I have put it through the works dropped it heaps and every thing and it still works mean. Till I read your comment; looked to see if it's bent and wouldn't you know it. It's fucking bent, so now I'm sitting here on Christmas Day all annoyed and shit.

So I got at iPhone 6s. Paid like 50 dollars in taxes and fees and will end up spending 2 dollars more per month than I do now for 24 months and that's it. So it comes to about 100 dollars for the phone which usually would have costs $399 (128GB). Fucking stoked! And lifeproof is hooking me up with a case for like 30 bucks. I'm soooo stoked!

Also when the iPhone 7 comes out, I can get that as long as I trade in my 6s in good condition. And if I keep my 7 in good condition, I can trade that in for an 8 and so on. Whether or not my phone makes it that long is a different story, but it's pretty cool to be able to upgrade like that!

Ahh, consumerism at its finest. Exploiting the worlds supply of ree's like coltan and neodymium causing huge environmental and social damage just so we can needlessly upgrade our phone each year.

Just get a 6s. Its pretty durable, doesn't have a massive screen like the +, and has awesome picture and video resolution at a pretty good frame rate. Battery lasts a good amount of time and charges fairly quickly.

How so? I've bought 1 smartphone in my life and am still using it and will continue to use it so long as it still turns on. I've been offered 'free' upgrades many times. I don't needlessly replace my phone just because it's a model out of date. I realize phones are becoming a necessity, not knocking buying a phone, but the pointless upgrades to newer versions when the old work perfectly fine is what gets me. No hypocrisy to see here.

I meant in general. Maybe with phones you live like this but i'd bet there is at least one thing you unnecessarily purchase where its production is damaging to the environment.

the main difference for skiers in between the Iphone 6 and 6s is that the 6s has 4k hd video and much higher rez pics. the slomo is also better on the 6s so I would take that one, because the better camera is worth the extra price.

I have a samsung s5 and its exponentially better than the iphone I had before. Sure the operating system isn't as clean and direct as ios but it makes up in many other places.
Pros:
1) the battery life is incredible, I've gone days without charging it and it has power saving modes and interchangeable batteries (it can also take 3 different chargers)
2)It's taken more hits then my iphone without so much as a scratch
3)Its waterproof... as long as the back plate and the charging port cover is closed
. On several occasions I have forgotten to remove it from my pocket before hastily wadding into water and each time it has worked perfect after
4) Limitless memory. for $50 you can add 130gb with a micro sd card
Cons:
1) the os is a little more confusing
