I liked the movie up until that final fight scene. Made me cringe so much, it's like the entire movie made a point of being realistic and not portray the war just like any other Manichean WWII movie, and it was working well. But then you shit the bed with that face-palm worthy final battle? I was so disappointed.

Personally because I think Infernal Affairs was already a masterpiece, and it seemed to me it was a cheap way of getting the public praises and global success the original movie deserved but never got simply because it was Chinese. Why else would you remake a movie that's already near perfect and only 3 years old?

The way I see it some Hollywood exec saw it on cable TV one late night and thought "That shit's great, how come nobody has heard about it? Let's remake it Hollywood style, replace Ching Chong with Dicaprio, and we're sure to make bank." I really liked Walhberg's performance though.

It is super hard to make a top 5, but if I had to with a gun to my head, that's what I'd come up with:

1. The Matrix
2. Schindler's list
3. Seven
4. Memories of Murder
5. The Man from Nowhere
Special mentions: Red Cliff - LOTR

Movies that are special to me (personal emotions, nostalgia, etc) but that I couldn't objectively put in a top 5: The Wizard of Oz - The Breakfast Club - Ferris Bueller.
