Full Tilt Custom Foot Bed

Alright before you guys think I'm a noob who wants full tilts please read this thread because I'm actually in a bit of a pickle here.


Okay so last year I was in need for new boots. Being a highschooler I couldn't afford much. So I had to choose boots from the previous year to get a sale price. The best fitting boot out of that limited selection was a Full Tilt DropKick. So I got them and they actually worked pretty well. I didn't really get fitted because of my selection and because boot fitters at my local store suck. Any so I only got shin bang a couple of times so no big deal. My heel rises sometimes when I do presses and butters. But this is all being taken care of because I'm going down to Inkline in Utah and they're gonna do some work on my boot.

But heres my question. What custom foot beds work well in a full tilt boot? Im still on a budget and the foot beds from inkline start at $225. Unfortunately I can't afford that and work on my boot ($30-$50). Innkline said I could bring in my own foot bed and they would cut them for me.

So whats a good cheaper foot bed that works well with Full Tilts?


and i know being cheap on ski boots isn't ideal but I'm a high school kid paying for his gear saving up for college so its hard to splurge

semi related, can I just stick a footbed under my liners and cook them again or would I have to buy a new boot a size up to fit them in it?

I would say buy superfeet, they are like less than $50 and work super well. They have ones for people with high, low, med arch and ones that keep your feet warm

superfeet makes a custom carbon. it's not like a cork one, but it's still more custom than a trim to fit.

they are around $100

I had superfeet, wasn't super stoked on them. They work well for the price point but wasn't loving them a lot. I eventually just took them out. Might be different for you. My feet grew also so they didnt last me too long, but again you might not be. They can suit others peoples needs better than others.

Footbeds go in your liners, not under them...

And yeah, you should be able to just re-cook the liner

Well it doesn't matter with intuitions. You can do either or. Depends on footbed and comfort.


But that still doesn't answer my original question. Hopefully we can get some traffick in the thread

Hey man sorry for the late reply. Trim to fits are ok but just ok. Because they are a generic shape you can't guaranter it will help an in some case it may make tem worse. I never recomend them but if you simply can't afford custom I personally think the best I have worked with are the Sidas ones. They have some more shape them superfeet an seem better made. Aline can be good too I have heard but I have not tried them. Really though if you can stump up the money custom really is the best way to go an will last along time which helps wuth cost.

Also, it's worth nothing the one part of your boots actually 100% worth splurging on is the footbed. Getting custom footbeds changed everything in my skiing, I can't ski with out them now.

Don't bother asking questions on the phone, they won't be able to tell you what you need without seeing your feet and lower legs, and the fitters don't typically answer the phone. I would assume right now they're booking appointments a full week out and the time frame is only going to get longer as soon as the resorts start opening here, so if you're traveling I would call and schedule tomorrow to assure an appointment, they don't do walk ins. When scheduling your appointment ask to schedule with Chris or Corey, they're the most experienced. Lastly Inkline is 100% a no pressure shop, they're in the business of doing what's best for the customer not making the most money off of each customer. Plan on being there for an hour or two.

Sorry, I'm a little late to the party, but what Tom said is pretty much it.

Concerning which is best for you is something your boot-fitter will ultimately decide with you. Custom is awesome, Aline is awesome and like boots, just get what works best for your feet.

Any footbed can go inside the liner and you won't have any issues. A few years ago, I had a lot of success with using Aline under an Intuition liner if it had a thin, moldable bottom. It doesn't work with Intuition liners that have a thick or hard bottom. When in doubt, just put the footbed inside the liner and mold it up.

Have you done a shell check on your boots yet?
Custom insoles won't help much if your boots are too big.

Maybe I wasn't clear in what I was saying. Go through an evaluation with Inkline before you do anything relating to your boots now. REI is about a block away from Inkline so if they (Inkline) recommend an off the shelf insole that fits your budget but they don't have you can run up the street and grab it from REI.

I think more or less Tom, Caucasian_Asian and myself are all telling you the same thing, don't worry about anything relating to your boots until you've been evaluated by a fitter.

Alright, will do. It seems like what's gonna be in my budget anyway will most likely be a trim to fit, which I could do myself or go up to REI then back down to inkline. Thanks for all the help yall

Same. I'm running the full customs in some roxa free birds inkline put me in. Totally changed the responsiveness of my skis and just overall control.

the manager at inkline said- footbeds are the most important part of the boot as ia the part that actually supports your foot.

I bit the bullet with new boots and full custom beds, so far it's been totally worth it.

I was going to tell lencon to message tom but guess you found the party PS I get a pain in my left heel in my dropkicks but just my left after a while like a squeezing granted I've been hiking in them but I may not have skied them enough to know but from a guess what is the solution or problem sorry for hyjacking the thread

I used to use the cut to fit sure foot insoles that you can get at REI or other places. They worked okay for awhile. I have corks in my new boots now and I can say they are for sure worth every penny.

I had footbeds put in my Dropkicks because they started to hurt, but the footbeds made them even worse so I just took them out and dealt with a little bit of pain, the same thing happened to my friend who also has tilts. But it all depends on your foot. I'm not sure if this is applicable or not I was too lazy to read your story.

lol not ironic at all. I knew I was gonna have to go to a Bootfitter but wanted to avoid the 6 hour round trip drive and the money lol. I was simply looking for a footbed that's compatible with FTs. You narb.

Anybody ever try these? I was thinking about putting some of these in my boots to reduce the shock but the reviews are pretty mixed.
