K2 Domain or Shreditor 92

Shreditors are camber and domains are rocker. Shreditors are much stiffer but butters aren't too hard, it just means you get a lot of pop out of them. Last season I rode a 160' vert rope park for the majority of the year on Shreditors and I loved them, they dominated the ice for the most part. They're really hard to get used to at first but I love them. I've tried rocker skis and I legitimately just can't do it. It's personal preference. Domains are a damn fine park ski, Shreditors can fucking charge.

I have owned the domains and shredditors (115 though).

It totally depends on what type of skiing you do, and how you ride. Personally, I've never loved the domains, always felt soft and sloppy. I really only ride my shredditors in pow, but they are responsive and stable, i can see the appeal of a thinner version in the park.

I skied both the new versions for a few days each at the end of last season. Between the toe the domain was certainly my favourite. The shreditor was still good but just way to soft for me. It was not just soft in the tip an. Tail but underfoot too so I was finding a lack of stability. The domain in comparison had a stiffer feel and a lot more pop. I was finding you can push it a lot harder but you will find things like butters harder. If you are smaller and like a more buttery style I would go shreditor. If your more a comp style park skier so goin bigger and doing things fast then the domain will be a better option. Both good ski though so either way you will have fun.

Tom, are you sure they didn't mislabel the skis at the demo or something? Because the Domain I can fold in half with next to no problem (I've owned several pairs including the '16). I'd say it was one of the softer skis out there. I haven't skied this year's Shreditor 92 but I have had team riders complain that it's too stiff for them, skied last year's and owned the old Recoil/Iron Maiden, which was almost the same ski and more a comp style park ski/pretty stiff throughout.

@Milk_man both are great park skis for the right rider. It depends how you ski. The Shreditor, at least last year's, was much stiffer than the Domain, with a faster base. It was way better on jumps, way better skiing pipe and charging the mountain. But they aren't that buttery or playful. You can still butter but it is hard work.

The Domain on the other hand has no camber and a slow base (I found them uncomfortably slow). But I'd say they are the best narrower playful ski I've skied. I tend to actually ride something fat out of choice but if you want a jibby, pressy, buttery rail ski that you can still spin fast I'd stick with them.

You might be mixing the skis around? The reason they were soft underfoot as well was because of the zero camber (on the Domain). Im pretty sure the domains are soft and the Shreditors are a bit more stiff from what I know. Never heard of Domains being a stiffer feel and a lat harder to butter

I actually had to go check but no the domain is certainly the stiffer of those too skis. The shreditor was just soft throughout it's running length whereas the domain stiffens underfoot. that is the difference. Although they are both soft becUase the shreditor uses a softer flex throughout the ski I found they were just not stable enough For me. I liked the domain being symmetrical too. K2 also lent me the sight which was stiff. They were like the old public enemy. They did lend me the press too but I never skied those. But yeah after double checking it was the domain I liked the best by far.

Both are fairly soft skis IMO. I'm not sure if they have changed since the 2014 models but i certainly felt the shreditors had a little more life and pop to them. But then again, I like a little flex in a pow ski and I don't think i'd like them in the park.

I think the sight is the best ski of the 3 for jumps, but they have limitations in their sizing options.

Thanks for the post! This made me decide to get the Domains again. I am afraid of stiffness.. I don't like stiff skis

They were one of the few skis that for me were basically unridable, at least how I wanted to ski. I was finding I was constantly washing out on the tips and tails and really could not push them. Maybe they have changed them up this season but when I tried them they were very very soft. I did only have the 177 to try so maybe I just needed the bigger size but I don't genrally like park style skis as big as the 184 k2

I know they are changing the cores up in the future but I dont think they have done it yet. I think though its my size compared to you. Im 5'11 and was prob 165lbs when I tried them out and skiing them in the 177 just was nothing like enough for me. The 184 would be better but a 184 is so big from k2 and there not the lightest of skis anyway
