The casual users are the easiest to make money off of. Coke does get cut a ton, yes, but usually with something semi-non harmful or at least something that has a low risk in the long term. Molly is a different animal. People want a trippy, happy, upbeat, warm and fuzzy experience, so dealers cut it with a plethora of other drugs to try to get the high as close to what the buyer expects.
Pure MDMA that is brominated from real safrole is tough to make in giant amounts. Most of it comes from Indonesia or other parts of south-east asia, and is therefore pretty expensive. Not coke expensive, but expensive enough that distributors are more than happy to cut it with 2ci, meth, baking soda, etc. Actually getting your hands on freshly extracted molly is pretty rare, unless your in the Netherlands or
And that cut molly is the good stuff. The normal shit has barely if any extract to begin with. Most of what people use is MDA, or a mix of MDMA and MDA. Then everyone down the line adds bits of different drugs until they feel its what users are looking for. This happens on a giant scale. Even your highest level local molly dealer is probably selling something with less than 20% MDMA. Lots of markets have never even had real MDMA, and the source is completely synthesized and a totally different high. But because thats what everyone else feels, they think its normal. And its close enough that they arent worried, but an experienced user can easily feel the difference.
Now there are some US based MDMA synthesizers, buttt they usually don't make a ton. And due to the fact that the market is already cut-to-shit product, they cut theirs down almost as much to make more on their limited supply. And these people are rare, highly sought after, and probably not making sweet deals with your bro on the fire molly. They don't have a reason to, and they have a gold mine.
Coke can be dangerously cut, but one of its selling points is its unique and addictive rush of a high. If the product is far off of that, people will notice and tell their friends. For a nebulous drug like molly, you can pass off a much cheaper and randomly assembled product for a long time without it costing you.
As a last rule of thumb i try to remember, any drug dealer who has over $2,000 in product probably has a gun and knows how to use it. And since molly comes it points, its a lot quicker to reach that 2k than with weed. People expect that with coke, people expect that with weed. But the happy "we don't give a fuck" EDM/molly culture pretty much ignores this and accepts anyone having do do with it as chill.
So its a double edged sword, you have dealers who want to make money selling to people that don't fully know what to expect, and have let their guard down to try a fun new drug with their friends at the fest. Everything will probably go fine, but the risk is just as much, if not a greater one, than doing coke or a ton of other drugs.
But hey, my friend made a lot of cash from dumb college kids who don't think about any of this before they whip out their wallet.

Coke is the classiest drug in my eyes. No other drug is THE drug of choice for politicians, celebrities and top businessmen when in party situations. Partially because it is so damn expensive, partially because it small and easy to carry, and partially because it is a drug that is a phenomenal pick-me-up when tired or drinking- 2 things successful people nearly always are.
I was a just a pothead in high school and college, but when i graduated and kinda randomly fell into a social group where i would meet and party with very influential people, i was shocked at how EVERYONE loves a bump or two when drinking.
I would adore if blow was legal, but for now ill just rely on amphetamines - Adderall, Vyvanse and the like.

Most molly has a lot more harmful shit cut into it than the average coke you can buy. The only reason you hear anything else is the userbase.
And how do you KNOW its 80% pure? You, and not anyone else? Unless you tested it, you dont. I know you can buy party test kits on the interwebz that test for 4-5 substances commonly found in molly. Now if you are doing internet shopping, you can get better stuff, by a lot, and most people have no idea where to find it. It's also more expensive/less profitable, and therefore less common.

All of these factors combined create the most vile vibe ever. EDM is the epitome of self loathing, narcissist fuckwits and is exactly why I hate it. EDM is cool, it's enjoyable and fun. But the culture behind it and especially the festival culture behind it is terrible.
Just look at everyone complaining about tomorrowworld. The event got rained out and they had to cancel it and yet all the self entitled bitches still complain, yeah like the organisers of the event wanted to cancel it. If they kept it running it would have been too dangerous and people still would have complained. If they let in cabs and ubers, really going to expect a bunch of cooked 20 year olds to behave themselves as they form an orderly line and wait patiently for taxis? Fuck no, no matter what the organisers did they still would have been blasted by the attendees. But everyone is still going to go back next year because "omg tomorrowworld is like the sickest festival"

I was turned off since high school to Coke. A little bit about the money and addictiveness but also just the zombie like state and hyped up moods people get in when on it. I'm not a big fan of rage rage rage rage. At a festival 2 weeks ago, I was fucked up and coked up people give off weird vibes. For some reason, there was more coke than normal. Also rumors of bunk shit going around of course that caused some drama. Especially turned off when they're jonesing for a fix at 3am. I must of been asked 3-4 times a night after 2am where the coke was. And this happens when I'm by myself at festivals all the time. People just assume I'm on coke because I'm up so late dancing but the reality is, I pace myself all day and have a little friend called Adderall.

hey hey, it's been awhile!
but to keep the thread on it's original path... I go to 2 EDM festivals a year and a handful of shows on top of that, and that's been going on for 3 or 4 years now I think. It has consistently been some of the most fun times I've had in my life and I've met a lot of really great people and long term friends by going up to (at that time a stranger) and striking up conversation.
Makes me laugh at how salty some of the people in this thread are. If you don't like it, don't go. Seems easy enough to me. It just seems like a pretty big waste of time and energy to write a mini novel about all the various things that somebody hates about festivals or electronic music. For anything that one person is passionate about and enjoys, there's always somebody who dislikes that same thing, I suppose that's what keeps the world interesting.
I saw that Imagine got cancelled. glad I din't have tickets I'd be so pissed people are going offfff on twitter. I'm excited for Beyond Wonderland in a couple of weeks I just went to Tame Impala and Seven Lions last weekend at the Gorge it was dope

Sucks after everything cancled for 2 years to covid. Wouldn't ever go to bonnaroo again but seemed like a bummer. Tahoe phish and billy strings got canceled to the fires here :(

We're so devastated. We worked damn hard on our Draco's Nest installation and now not gonna get the chance to display the new lighting and cryo cannons on it. Not to mention the 7000 lbs of propane we had to blow up.
When they announced the cancelation, the whole festival build was finished and ready to go. Now about 50% broken down. The artists have all booked renegade sets in downtown ATL.
The real shit though is that now the weather forecast suddenly changed and there's basically gonna be no rain at all. I'm on site sitting in the grass now, and it's blue skies and dry ground. Partly cloudy, perfect festival weather.
