Top 10 East Cost Ski Runs

What do yall think are the top 10 best runs on the EC? Im trying to put together a list of mountains/trails I want to go to this year...gotta start getting away and exploring other than my home mtn in southern VT.

So far (haven't skied these before)
- Jay Peak
- Sugarbush
- Stowe
-MRG

But I know there are some crazy trails scattered throughout the EC. Smugglers had some pretty crazy trees I LOVED but I hated their lift was so dam slow.

Anyways post up some recommendations

K27 at hunter mountain in NY. Its got a pitch of like 27 degrees with moguls. if you want a challenge that is one of the best ones you will get in NY if not the East coast

lifline/chute @mrg, deff the alley at 7 springs and a resort most have never heard of is blue knob it has the most ill trails in the mid alt. 200 inches of snow too. anyway the trail is steambogen bowl because its an actuall bowl! its got a steep drop one one side that i like jumping. its also got the steepest trail south of ny. and you can get untracked pow nearly the whole year. as u can tell i kinda have a man crush with this hill

Face chutes > deliverance at jay
Backside snowfields > cant dog glade at sugarloaf
Paradise at mrg
Cant speak for Stowe or Smuggs as I havent been to either

Paradise at mrg personally think is best trees run in the east. If u go on a pow day one of the best mountains in the east. Goat at stowe is a pretty sick run. also heard the slides at wf are amazing but havent skied them yet hoping to this year. hmu with some k+ should be a good season

All of Brackett/Burnt, especially Hell's gate at Sugarloaf, or the secret top entrance to Blind Ambition at Sunday River

The Hell's gate cliff isn't in here, but you can see the awesome drops and trees, and even east coast pillows at Sugarloaf in this quick vid

This. Ripcord is hit or miss but when it's in good shape it's one hell of a run.

Imo if theres good snow then nowhere else in the Northeast can come close to Sugarloaf in terms of terrain. I have not skied Stowe/ Smuggs though

Word definitely soem good ideas here. Iv strayed away from park so im not really focused at all on it I could care less if a mtn has a decent park anymore...though it is fun once and a while

maxstrSugarbush is super fun if ur in the park and love rails.


Sugarbush also has Castlerock, great terrain, a lot of fun trails, and some fun trees, plus a good park

Watch any of the Ski the East Freeride tour videos, sugrabush, mad river, jay, magic, all super sick mountains. Lincoln peak has castle rock, Gazelle at MRG, along with Chute/liftline love them all.

Mad River has the best terrain on the east coast. Everything off the single and the double are great, plus you can pretty much ski in any of the woods off any of the marked trails

Better believe it! My personal favorite run at Springs in the later season is the spot. Other than park, I like corkscrew, goosebumps, and the one to the right of corkscrew if you're looking up the hill.

There are natural features that you can get some good air off.

Asks for epic ski runs like trees etc. Get's hit with 50% parks and tiny mountains.

one more thing i will add...after living in bc the past 6 years and getting all spoiled with the skiing here all i want to do is ski upper gondi line at sugarloaf. Out here if a slope is steep they don't groom it, let it go to moguls and just hope for pow.

I've searched all over whistler and can't find any groomer that compares to gondi line/white nitro. granted they were normally a sheet of ice, but when they were nice corduroy they great. Its reminiscent of skiing in europe, on steep slopes with fairly hardback snow.



then again i haven't skied sugarloaf in 7 years now so its highly possible they're not as steep as i remember haha

Upper Gondi is pretty steep, and the headwall of Gondi is steep as well. Average is around 30 degrees I think for the whole trail, but I would venture to say the headwall in itself is a little steeper. Have to hit them early in the day though, they are usually sheets of ice by afternoon, if they didn't already start that way.

the front four at stowe are pretty gnarly, most of the stuff off of Madonna I lift at smuggs is pretty good too, especially lift line and black hole

The sadle underneath peak has a nice slope not as steep as that but is groomed and super fun to really open it up and rip.

hidden woods runs at stratton
mount snow has jaws
Gore mountain has a ton of great glades

Yeah it's pretty much just a nostalgia vote, but it still is a nice little run. Plus on a decent pow day the woods on ripcord (and the entire North Face) are pretty fun. That being said, someone else mentioned Paradise at MRG and that would definitely be my serious vote.

You mean Dynamite? Tremblant has some ok stuff if you know where to look, but nothing like VT or Sugarloaf.

Was definitely thinking of the Edge, not sure what made me say wall... but it depends on where you go and what your looking to ski. For example there's tons of guys bringing Mt Snow into this conversation but honestly if you aren't into riding park most of, if not all, the time, the rest of the mountain gets old pretty damn fast. I have heard fantastic things about Sugarloaf though even though I haven't ever actually been
