What College?

Hey guys, I'm gonna be starting my senior year of high school this fall. So that means college is right around the corner. Ive heard its actually easy to get accepted to college, but scholarships are the hard part. Anyway I'm interested in University of Utah, West Minster, and University of Montana. Obviously I want to ski while I'm in college. Who attends/ attended any of these schools? I live in Pocatello, Idaho (2 hours from U of U) so I've been down to that area and know I would like. I however have never been to Bozeman, but I plan on going this winter to check out the town and maybe ski at Bridger. Any help is much appreciated. I also might stay in my home town and go to Idaho State University to keep costs low and ski at my home mountain, but I would love to get to a better mountain and more terrain if I could. Thanks guys, Id appreciate some help.


Also maybe I could crash with you to save money. Or we could plan lodging.

I would say go to brogan university here in Idaho. They produce all the top afterbangers in the world. They're obviously doing something right.

ISU is horrible, it's not worth the money saved (transferred from there). U of U is a really decent choice.

Just wondering, but what classes you were taking there? I know they have a good welding program and they hook students up welding all over the world.

If you want to go ski new terrain, there are much cheaper ways to do that than going to college and spending a ton of money on an education that doesn't seem to be a primary objective.

It's fine to filter schools by region, but the discussion first needs to be about what you want to study and what schools are good for that.

Yeah I didn't put it there. Most people tell me I'm gonna change my major anyway so it's not a huge concern at the moment

That's where I'm going this fall.

I've seen a couple things saying above average snow for tahoe though, and one article saying it will be the best winter in 50 years. But then again....they say that every year. Lol

Yeah it's become an absolute crapshoot. UNR is fan-fucking-tastic, but Tahoe has been miserable.

I'm hoping that article is right though. 1st year living down there and having the best winter in 50 years would be a legitimate miracle. It would be so sick.

Have you considered a community college? It is usually way cheaper and the credits transfer easily if you decide on a career that needs a 4 year degree. Community college also will give you the options of training for a trade that might end up paying more $. Also if you are still trying to date that High School GF you will still be around and if that falls through you can transfer after a year or even just a couple of terms.
