Transfer talk is well underway, so here's a new thread for the upcoming season.

With FFP being relaxed we can expect to see some big spending across the continent this summer. Apparently Juve want £80M for Pogba, who wants £250k a week.

Yeah, they must have seen that there's some promise in the Kompany-Mangala partnership after all and decided just to buy Otamendi. Probably a good move, as City now don't have to worry about having enough cover at CB if someone gets hurt, and will be able to rotate and keep guys fresh as they go for trophies in multiple competitions.

Speaking of Chelsea, good to see Pedro coming in right away and making a big impact. Sad to see him leave Barca, but hopefully he'll be able to do well at Chelsea and get the game time he deserves. Calling it now, he'll be top three in BPL player of the year voting.

pretty meh game between arsenal and liverpool. both sides should of had goals. cech came to play for sure, and chambers needs to be sent back to sunday beer league after that performance.

Really? I thought it was a really good game, especially the first half. Things started getting dull by the end once Liverpool stopped trying to win, but overall I thought it was a good game. Coutinho is filthy, so under appreciated.

definitely not the worst game iv watched, but for i didnt really see the quality i expect out of those two teams. there were flashes of excellence but i couldnt stand how awful both teams were with the ball in the back. cech and mignolet were amazing otherwise it would have been a few goals to a few

Oh. I guess, over the last season or two, this is pretty much the best I've come to expect from the BPL. The fact that both teams were able to create a few good chances from passing the ball on the ground in their attacking half is better than what you normally find in the Prem. Worlds better, at least, than United have been, or Chelsea were before Pedro showed up and reminded them how to play.

Wouldn't be surprised, given their past CL performances, if City don't make it. I think they will make it, and they should, but Sevilla are nothing to sneeze at, and it certainly won't be easy for City.

If Matic and Fabregas don't improve, or Chelsea don't bring in someone else to play in that central midfield two, it's going to be a long, long season for Chelsea. I just hope Matic and Fabregas playing as poorly as they have doesn't mean that Abramovic and Mourinho become willing to go to any lengths to get Pogba from Juve.

Good for West Ham, they earned that win. IDK about Coutinho getting sent off but oh well.

Ivanovic is so fucking bad at defending against pacy wingers lately he needs to be dropped for Baba. Hazard looks so alone in attack and looks like a shell of himself from last season.

Kenedy and RLC looked great when they came on, as well as Zouma the whole game. It says something when our youngsters are the only ones who look like they give a shit. Cahill was also good. Matic and Fabregas are dire.

palace is a dark horse this season for me, pretty solid squad.

arsenal game was pretty boring. they need a forward, the front line hasnt been clicking.

You spelled "Pedro" wrong.

It's interesting City are so determined to get De Bruyne when things are going so well for them right now. I wonder where he'll fit in. He's much more like Silva than Navas, who I assume he'll replace in the starting 11, not really an out and out winger and prefers drifting around to staying wide. I wonder what it'll do to the seemingly excellent chemistry City have right now.

well done by arsenal today. should have been 4 or 5 though. cant believe ox sits on the bench but i am not sure who he replaces. i really like his play and he did well over the break with england. crazy talent like that is used as a late sub.

man u looks like they made a good choice with martial so far. iv always been a fan and wish he hadnt gone to man u.

Nah. But so far terrible luck for Barca this season, started with a small squad, and now they keep having players getting injured on top of it. Going to be a really tough first half of the season for them.

Man it's really tough for Chelsea when guys like Ivanovic and Fabregas just don't look like they give a single shit about what happens. No effort on defense, giving up two goals without making any kind of effort to prevent them.

Poor Pedro, he deserves better than this. Especially now that Messi is out for 7-8 weeks and there's a Pedro sized hole in Barcelona's starting 11.

Seriously. There is no hunger until the last 20 minutes of the game when Hazard suddenly starts playing well. Willian and Ramires really stepped up the game, they brought intensity.

Don't agree on the Pedro thing though, he played pretty badly and missed an easy chance. He should've scored.

Ahhh the guy who comments on all (bad) things Chelsea.

Jose needs to turn this around and quick. RLC and Baba should get a run in the PL, at least they look hungry.

Am I wrong? Fabregas and Ivanovic's efforts on defense have been atrocious all season. Only commenting because Chelsea have been notably worse than they should be. They're capable of being a very good team, but sure haven't looked it yet. I thought that was the point of a forum, to make comments about notable things.

Everyone in this thread is more than aware lol. It's been blasted all over anything soccer relacted for days. This thread touches pretty much every European league despite it saying just EPL.

I'm really hoping that Juventus will pick themselves up sometime soon. Obviously they aren't going to be stuck in this rut they're in for the entire year, but if they even want to think about a league title they better start shaping up quick. The loss of tevez, pirlo, and llorente has really hurt them so far. Pirlo was such a playmaker/set piece taker, and tevez could just finish. Pogba needs to step up soon.

On the other hand, I'm really happy with the strength of Serie A these days. Between Inter, Juve, Napoli, Roma, Fiorentina, and even some of the smaller teams i.e. Sassuolo, Lazio, and Chievo, anything could happen this year in the league. Nice to mix things up and see a more even playing field than a lot of other leagues.

Man, Barcelona having just no luck so far this season. Started with a short squad, and there's been just no end to the injuries on top of that, just when they needed it not to happen. Already Alves, Busquets, Alba, Vermaelen, Bravo, Adriano, Messi, and now Iniesta have been hurt, and all of them but Busquets have missed multiple games because of their injuries.

Still managed to pull out a 2-1 win against a really good Leverkusen team today. A lot of guys are going to have to really step up to keep Barca competitive and with a chance of winning trophies until all these injuries sort themselves out and Barca are allowed to register Turan and Vidal in January and the team gets back to full strength.

I'd almost rather go out to be honest. Arsenal have a small squad, why waste player resources on a competition you have 0 chance of winning. At least the league is so unpredictable that who knows.
