Replying to Wheres the love for Calgary?
Good Company goes out and shoots their entire film in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I've lived here for 3 years while attending the University of Calgary, and cant help but notice the massive potential for urban skiing. The cops probably support the shit, it snows in early September, and the massive industrial areas provide a mecca of gnarly features.
Why didn't Good Company mention that Calgary was the where the movie was shot? Sure there were shots of the city, C train, and other landmarks, but not once did they actually say where they were. Unless you live here you'd probably not have a clue where it was.
To me urban is all about where you shoot it. It displays the city in a unique way and generates a different type of awareness for a great Canadian city that is overshadowed by the oil crisis.
Good Company One was one hell of a movie, I just don't understand why saying it was filmed in Calgary was left out of the equation. I challenge you to find one sentence in the film or description that mentions the city. I'm interested if anybody on NS cares to share their 2 cents?
