NinetyFourWhat did it all consist of? If you're ever super bored check out the app Raur, it's just like the podcast version of Instagram. Never know, there might be some opportunity for NS to be on there, or it could totally fucking blow.
Mr.BishopWe streamed music and then had live shows which were a mix of music and interviews with pro skiers / industry types. It was ghetto but fun. Obviously in today's day and age we would have to cut the music portion of it, but I've always wanted to bring back the interviews part. Just don't have the time for it anymore realistically.
It was a cool thing though for a while. 2004-2007 was its heyday.

Mr.BishopHeh, can't really say fuck copyright laws, gotta keep whatever we do legit. Talk radio/podcasting would be the absolute best way to approach this, and likely the most interesting.
I've actually been listening to the MTNMeister Podcast and Low Pressure Podcast driving to work. I kind of wonder if something well done and audio for newschoolers could work.
Do any of you ever listen to podcasts while driving to the hill?
MLJHahaha I meant as in I really hate copyright laws, I realise just avoiding them wouldn't last very long. I don't listen to any podcasts, but it seems like a pretty cool idea. There should defo be an occasional NS podcast. Just you and abunch of random industry people talking about stuff and skiing, would be awesome. Maybe have brief summaries of recent events, gear, etc.

I think something that deconstructed "what makes you great" would be awesome. Where you pick a guest and really dive deep into what made them special in the Ski Industry. Admitted full rip-off of the Tim Ferriss podcast, but applied to skiing it could be awesome.

NinetyFourHow do you cap semi clear audio via phone though? It would be sweet to interview someone on the spot and upload it, but for so many of us that just isn't possible. Nobody wants to listen to a recording of somone speaking through a phone either.
MLJYou could buy a podcast mic for less than $40 I should think, and that could connect straight up to your computer or maybe even phone. It would work well enough, podcast mics don't need to be amazing since it is a fairly constant level of conversation, as long as you pick a fairly quiet place to do the interview.
Mr.BishopThere's amazing portable mics available for exactly this purpose. Couple hundred bucks and bam. Its more about the time to line up the interviews and such.
NinetyFourSomething to think about I guess. I will admit though, I think I most like the idea of just straight up in person recording an interview with someone, very shoot from the hip style. I'll post up some video interview examples in a bit. Nothing too in depth or intense, I personally have been enjoying stuff like that less and less.

Podcasts are like crack after you get into them and have places to drive.
cydwhitI'll check that out! Dirtbag diaries is a little more climbing/backpacking/general adventure focused but it has the same sort of stories and Stoke that make skiing awesome.
NinetyFourIf you get a chance then Doug, check out the Raur app (used to be called instaradio). Surely you can find a cast on there you would like. On a side note a guy I kind of follow did a live cast and chat while walking to the beer store, and it was pretty amazing how well a set of Apple earbuds isolated his voice while filtering out street and car ambient noise. Again though it would be really hard to line up in person interviews, even for somebody who lived in a place like SLC/PC I'd imagine.
If this ever did happen though, would we just record audio, edit it, and then upload it to the video section? Or would we upload to SoundCloud and embed to NS? Or would we add a section to the site for it? Anything else like Raur, I don't think you can embed, so we'd be losing views to other sources if we did it that way.
