Replying to passion of skiing compared to other sports

since skiing is almost like nothing else. i.e. snoboarding has its skateboarding, surfing, wakeboarding, carve boarding etc who agrees/sees what Im saying when our sport of newschool skiing might have a stronger hold on people then any other sport out there? I'm dead serious when I say this based on observation of people's personalities towards skiing and skiing in general. Maybe its just the progression of the sport and maybe all sports go through this but I really DONT think so. Simply b/c skiing has a its moments where shit has to be RIGHT ON. weather has to be good, boots have to fit, bindings adjusted, skis, EVERYTHING is $$$$, gas money, waking up early, inconviences like getin shit in and out of the car then walkin up a dirty parking lot to the mt, dealing with patrol, skiing high, listening to music when skiing, the fact that we hav to wait at least 5 -6months ( average person ) to ski next season, skiing backwards which is honestly like nothing else and the future of it is incredible i think.....i mean shit the list goes on and on. All of this contributes to people and how strong skiing has a hold on them. I mean I know kids that drive 4hours for a day trip and spend over 2000 a year and they barely ski more than 30 days! Who catches my drift?
