This is exactly the impression that the ski business wants us to buy.
But since we´re doing this:

Nordica: i heard ian compton dropped out of the line team.

Rossignol or Salomon or Head: I just heard about these twintip skis and i wanna go bigairdave.

Armada: i wear bigass clothes and i just heard that tanner hall smokes weed, i wanna try that shit too.I also have all black oakleys.And im 13.

Faction skis: Im sponsored and i think faction skis are the best

Line: these wont probably last long, but andy parry is cool.And pizza.

Surface,Jskis,HGskis,on3p:I dont know nothing about these skis, but i heard these are good.

K2: Im from the stept and i think urban skiing is serious. U never know what i will do if i dont land the trick on first try. Never have fun when u ski and remember to be a dick. I also may be the fatass with the beard and a snapback who does straight airs whit cranearms.

When I was in college I actually thought of starting a ski company called Trait where the models of the skis reflected the personality of the potential riders:

Jibby rockered park ski = the enthusiast (for those enthusiastic butters/jibs)
Fully cambered park ski = the perfectionist (stability for perfecting your line)
All mtn ski = the optimist (for being optimistic regardless of conditions)

There was a couple more.. but you get the point… then I realized I'd rather ski my life away than make skis for the rest of my life.

Skis should reflect your personality.

my skis only reflect my personality only to the extent that I'm a cheap ass bastard so whatever skis I am on didn't cost me much. . . .

Not sure if that helps with your analysis of brands and who and what they represent, though.
