How many days do you use your pow skis?

How many days do you use your pow skis, on average, a season? I feel like everyone buys pow sticks, but they are rarely used and then sold like whores on B/S/T. For me I probably average 5 days a season with them.

The last few years my New Life's have been my only ski. Definitely a bit much for everyday, but they still rocked in pretty much all conditions (other than really tight trees and moguls). Nothing beats monster trucking over everything...

Definitely looking forward to rocking my new Jmo's as my daily driver though.

I liked your old icon better.

I just had a duly driver that was 102 mm last year. This year ill hopefully log around 45 days on my YLE's using them in a quiver.

everyday...once or twice a year ill take out my still sharp and pristine troublemakers for pipe and groomers...haha I'm see my self having those skis for a loooong time.

Every day, last year I never skied a ski under 110 mm at the waist (except for a few ON3P demos at beartooth, kartel 106 FTW!)

This year I'll be on Shreditor 112's every day and Hellbents for park.

My ultimate quiver would probably be Kartel 106's inbounds and Steeple 102's with dynafits for out of bounds, I have no desire to ski anything under 100mm again.

There is little to no use for pow skis in buffalo. Therefore I don't own any. Sooo 0 days.

I'm going out to Colorado and Utah for about 4 weeks this winter so I'm considering investing in some. Not sure though.

Tl;dr Demo skis are a great option if you don't get that many great days.

Since I don't get enough pow days, I use demo skis when there's pow! Last season I had 2 powder days (in revy $$$) where I payed $30 per day for big fat k2's that were insanely fun. If you don't use them that much a season, I think demos from a good shop (not the mountain rental place) are at least worth considering. The only actual downside is that the bindings are heavier, and I guess having to pick up/ drop off (but a lot of the time they make it super fast and convenient). Obviously not a good option if you use pow skis more than like 4 or 5 times a season.

On a sidenote... Remember that you DONT need pow skis to enjoy a pow day. If you actually have some decent technique, skinny skis can shred. Think back to skiers from like 20-50 years ago.

I wish I owned pow skis, but I would probably get to ride them ish 5 days a year, $100 a day just doesnt seem worth it for an initial investment

I live on the east coast but i still use my pow skis about 10 times a year maybe a little more. I take a trip out west every year and on good days you can use em at gore.

this is why i never bought pow skis until someone offered me some yellow submarine bentchetlers for only $100. When i get to use them, its usually a great day to say the least.

The funny thing is we ski the same mountain, I am always on pow sticks and you never are, haha

im with this guy... i have this excact setup and its unreal so far, i ski new lifes at least half my days on snow

I have the 188cm rossi super 7's.Not sure if they are a "pow" ski or just an all-mountain ski, but I used them every day I skied last year except one. Which was only like 5 times unfortunately.

Living in PA and not road tripping as much as I used to makes me almost embarrassed to answer this haha. Maybe like 4 times last year, and we had a good winter here ha.

Funny thing is, at the end of the season I drank two oskar blues beers at my local ski hill just so I could enter a raffle........and I won new pow skis hahahaha.



maybe it was destiny as my other pow sticks are the PBR Maiden AKs haha.



I'm sure I will have both these skis for life.

My pow skis get probably 10 days a year, I've had the same ON3P caylors for 3 seasons now and they're still in great condition.

It helps that I have separate Pow, park and crusier skis.

Because you live in steamboat and 8" constitutes a pow day and you don't need a fat ski...........

Really unless you live somewhere it snows more than 400" you can ski a 100-105 mm ski every day including "pow" days.

Usually anywhere between 5-15 times. I will take them out on days when it is 4-6 inches of light snow. I did buy chronics this past year though, and I did try them when it was soft and about 4 inches fresh, and I loved em. So now I only take the pow skis out when there's a lot of fresh snow.

except alot of people do. I ride sir francis bacon's everyday, i rode them in keystone park all season last year. fat skis are just different, but they DO rip on groomers and they're really fun in the park. 50-50s and surface swaps for daysss.
