Boots are the hardest thing to fit. There are so many variables when it comes to fitting boots. In your situation try and find a decent shop that can size you properly then try on as many boots as possible. If that means waiting a while try and hold if you can.

i know a lot of people are going to disagree with me but if you can find what size of boot you need by measuring you're foot in mondo don't just look at a conversion table they are always off. Figure out if you have a wide foot or not then you can get close and if you get those two things right most ski shops can do shell work and make any adjustments if necessary. I work at a ski shop and its my first year and i know I have a shit ton to learn about boot fitting but it seems like everyone on here acts like boot fitting is some skill that takes years to perfect. Just my opinion, but i feel like half of the people out there have never even had to boot fit someone, they just read what others say on here so they think its hard. That's just my opinion.

So just do some research on different boots that you want to get and see what each offer and how they fit differently. If you can get the correct size and width then I think you will be half way there.

One of the things most skiers on this site understand is the importance of having good fitting boots. So by that pretext of that the most said thing in boot threads on this site are gonna say the same old thing. "Go to a Bootfitter, we can't see your feet."
But you are right that alot of people just say the same thing because they don't know.

yeah I do not actually punch out shells and that kind of thing that would be my boss, and what he did to mine when I first got them helped so I must just be lucky to find someone the first time around. But yes I am not saying that boot fitting isn't important and my foot is easy to fit.
