NinetyFourI ski a lot of rails and icy park jumps, so I bought some last season. I'm riding in the POC vpd 2.0 shorts. I didn't think they would do too much but they were probably one of the best things I've ever bought. I don't have to deal with bloody hips and hip rash anymore, and the tail bone protector has literally saved my ass a few times.
Of all of the crash shorts they definitely offer the most coverage, but I think they're also the most expensive. I love mine though.
