Is it bad to have no padding in a helmet

I have a 2012 Solomon helmet and the only way it fits i have to take out all the padding from the helmet. Will it fuck up the helmets protection or no?

Yes, don't do it. Without the padding you're essentially not wearing a helmet

Which helmet is it? If it is the brigade then that was designed to be beanie convertible so you can take the foam out and still have it function.

i think he means just the mesh/soft foam piece. so it still has the bike helmet like material on the inside.
I do that all the time so i can wear bennies with my helmet. Never had any problems.

guilty as charged. the plastic shell will protect your skull, and the padding is definitely there for a reason... but back in the day, if you took it out and wear a hat it made the helmet fit better and not have a huge egg on top of your head. its all about steeze

OP, buy a helmet that fits. You shouldn't have to remove part of the product in order to make it fit your needs.

Yea as long as the thick hard foam is in there you're alright. That soft stuff doesn't do jack except make your helmet more comfortable

You should be good without but I'm a fan of all padding in the helmet anyways. Too many good hits MTB to know its also somewhat important to fitment.
