Ski season costs?

Just as title says.


I know for me some season all I need is a new pass. Others I need new pants, helmet, goggles, skis that's where it gets expensive.

This year I'll probably end up spending $900 after selling stuff.

I got an almost free trip to Utah for 2 weeks, breck for a week and a pass for 150. I bought a jacket and I need new boots really bad. That's about it it though. Depending on how often we take weekend trips, I might spend up to 600 on that. Gas and food are what's gonna kill my wallet though.

Dropped $1200+ on gear and skis last year in end of summer sales but this season, I only needed a pass which for me was $400 I just hope I don't break any gear.

ZERO I tore my achilles last spring and I no longer have the urge to ski at all. Also the closest hill to my school is like 2hrs and its a piece of shit.

Buuut. I might go to tremblant during break so i could spend a gajilion dollars to barely ski.

Just got my first setup together so this year, waited until last years gear was on sale to save a bit. basically got everything >50% off

$220 atomic panics
$150 marker squires
$225 full tilts
$20 some poles
$750 epic pass (for park city)

I'd say next year will cost less but I'm guessing I'll probably end up buying a legit pair of park skis or powder skis so it'll probably end up about the same.

this sport costs nothing compared to kitesurfing though so i barely blinked at buying this stuff

If you take good care of your stuff you don't need new gear every season. I just broke a 5 year old deck this year and moved onto a 4year old one. I had some goggles from a few seasons ago. New helmet I bought last year for 110 cause my other one was broken. Mix of bindings from 6 ish years ago. A 4 square jacket from 6 years ago I got for $40 from someone at the hill. And some new $250 on some new boots because my boots were run into the fucking ground and even duct tape couldn't save them at that point. Legit had both footbeds detach.


So spent

$100 helmet
$250 boots

and was good to go. On the plus side I got some new pants, jacket, and some dragon goggles for free which doesn't hurt. And work at the hills so get money rather than spend it.

IDk, if your gear works just keep using it. Skiing doesn't have to be an expensive sport.

worked all summer, cant wait for this season

More than I want, getting into the backcountry is going to be expensive, gas is expensive and camera gear is expensive, its all worth it at the end of the day though.

Living an hour away from my home mountain and getting 50+ days a season, most of my money goes to gas. That on top of a season pass and gear is definitely more than 1.5K

Well seeing as my season pass costs over a thousand Euros, plus I'm looking to get some low skis for this season, in gonna end up dropping way more than I should.

Mine will be at least a grand for the Paradiski season pass but I don't know how much more as I tend to buy when I need to but it will probably end up more.

But last season it was:
Season pass: €999
Majesty hoodie for spring skiing: £60
Fatcan poles: €60

Total: €1059 and £60

Everything except the jackets are brand new, parents are planning on covering the cost of a ski pass, so that's cool. I was planning on buying some skis that are more park specific now that I'm graduated and can get potentially triple the days I got last season, but I figured that's unnecesary and might as well just run the Al Dentes into the ground and buy B-Dogs or something... I really just wish there was still a ski with the original halo/alpha shape though. That's why I'm reluctant to buy new park skis.
