Where is the best place to ski if you live in the Midwest?

Did you not learn to turn when you learned to ski? The runs are longer than anywhere else outside of Duluth. Maybe I ski like a slug, though....

Anyone live in the Chicagoland area?

Moved down here a year and a half ago after I graduated and have yet to establish a ski routine. Down to carpool to a hill or find some urban in and around the city.

True anywhere down south of Duluth is going to limited with how long the runs are, but I haven't skied there in 17 years so I only have what memories an 8 year-old has of a place. The music blasting over the outdoor speakers was always nice though, I don't know if they still have that.

but out west is always a great option. seriously.

I go to Hyland and Afton Alps they both keep their parks super nice and at hyland you can hot lap the park really well

For park go Cannosnburg, at least in Michigan, But bohemia is the best place you can find for back country.

I put in 60-70 days at Granite Peak each year. One hell of a mountain. The new park manager is keeping pace with the last one.

GokuStay away from Mount Bohemia. Its the absolute worst, nothing good there at all, not worth it.
They don't groom, there are no lights, and its about 75 miles from anything.
They don't even accept cash, credit only.
The only lodging is in a stupid tent, and if you can't afford one you have to pay 20 whole dollars to sleep with other people.
Yep absolutely nothing worth seeing here, keep driving east or west. Marquette Mtn is great.
